First video I have watched on Vegas, awesome thank you. thinking about switching from Pinnacle I am assuming Vegas is way better. Quick question I have in Pinnacle about 20 mini movies that I have edited and they are saved in the Pinnacle file extension. I CANT loose these how do I convert or save these where I can transfer them in Vegas. I don't want to buy Vegas until I know this. Thank You and look forward to more of you videos. Dear Sir, I do followed u'r step from u'r previous video on that subject and rendered my 1.14 mins project for 1.30 mins,its good for me actually(it took nearly 5 mins before i found u'r tutorial!)using OpenCL ..And 1 more question,is it right procedure to use Handbrake on video projects before render it in Sony Vegas? (i'm askin these coz i use Fraps to record my games and the file is very big..) Until then thank you very much sir,really glad to found u'r channel..cheers!

have a question: in movie studio how do i disable those yellow loop triangles at the top of my timeline...every time i try to edit something they always pop up on my timeline & tries to loop it..really annoying...anyway i can take it off completely?

Hi Derek, i'm currently using the free demo of Pro 13 which doesn't seem to have the Izotope Nectar Elements or indeed any of the other plug-ins in the Third Party menu. Would these be included in the full base version or will i have to get the Suite version? Thanks.

Titler pro 3 problem. Hi, since update yesterday i am unable to do anyting usefull in Vegas. Everything works fine in titler preview, as soon as i close titler window and try to playback in vegas whole animations and text display time is less than a second. New blue dos not know what's wrong, Sony neither. Any ideas?

***** I did buy Vegas 13 Suite with titler pro 3 deal. Got Studio 13 already installed, so i did have titler pro 2. For some reason i never got to newest version of titler pro 3 (one with elastic timeline etc). Some of my FX did not work properly, i contacted NewBlue, they told me reason is probably older titler version, so i udpadet to new one: link: www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Windows/NewBlueTitlerProForWindowsSetup30-140530.exe After installing all aother newblue plug ins work fine. Titler works fine as well as "stand alone". As soon as i try to playback in vegas it stops workin, as desribed above. I reainstalled vegas and titler - no effect. Strange enough it seems to work first time you edit text, edit again - problem accours again... p.s. sony customer support is a joke, they will help you over the phone, if you pay :) lol

Slide the video across timeline until it snaps into place. There is a setting called "Snapping" which controls how media joins together. F8 turns it on/off.

This is my first experience with a Pro version of Vegas - version 13, Build 310, 64 bit, i5 card. I love it and all is fine until I try the 'Render As' command. The program crashes every time. This has never been a problem with any of my Movie Studio versions. A message to Sony has been ignored. Can you help please Derek?

***** Thanks for your assistance. Don't think I've changed anything. Dynamic RAM is 200. GPU Acceleration is ON (crash happens either way). Impossible to choose Render As profile. Crash occours immediately I click on 'Render As'. Similarly I'm unable to get to the Render As box which has the Customise Template button. On my Studio 11 the Encode is on automatic. GPU is a GeForce GTX 470 Previously I meant of course an i5 processor Project is a 22 minute video, shot on two different cameras Some files are AVC (.mts on timeline), others MPEG-2 / .mt2 Template is HD 1080-50i (1920x1080, 25.000 fps)

***** Do not have GoPro installed or NewBlue Titler objects. Have re-installed Vegas Pro. I had previously posted on the Vegas Pro Forum - 'Subject: Vegas Pro 13 crashes on render, but 11 works fine.' There have been some good tips, including rolling back the Nvidia driver. This I have tried. Have checked out the Creative Cow Forum and this is described as a relatively common problem. I will try to post on there but I find the long Vegas error messages impossible (literally) to copy and paste.

48snapper Update. Sony Creative Software finally replied. It seems the problem was caused by me installing Vegas Pro on a different hard drive to C. Never been a problem with that previously, most of my programs, including previous Movie Studio versions have gone onto my F. drive. Many thanks for all your help.

***** Yes I know it's supposed to work, it works with my Vegas Pro 11, I actually just figured out how to configure it a couple of days ago since I've been using it with my Reaper DAW, It might be that Sony changed things so that It expects a newer firmware version however I originally had problems with the newer firmware in Reaper.. Still Version 13 is LOADS more stable compaired to V11 on my HP410-Y, 16 GB RAM. I expect to be Able to order/build a new dual Intel Xeon CPU PC workstation for our Audio/Video productions in a near future together with the brand new Behringer Moto keyboard as well as the new DAW controller also with 9 motorized faders, knobs etc from Behringer.. :)

***** I appreciate the Info, and yes I plan to use vegas pro 13 with our new drone footage etc since it seem to be the most stable version so far (I'm judging it from the use on my current system). However since I'm also purchasing ProTools 11 / Eleven rack and AVID doesn't provide any certification info for AMD / PT 11 I have yet to decide about which GPU card's to invest in, so far the default GPU cards included in the 900-IE PC (cool White Starwars Trooper inspired PC model) can like the Motherboard be upgraded but they are TWO EVGA Geforce GTX 770 SC (SLI).. I believe AMD also offer dual CPU workstation solutions, still it's difficult for me to know where to go with that because of the current AVID / Protools 11 situation.. My current choice, an ASUS MB + 2X Xeon's with 6 cores each which means 24 "threads" in total will be hard to beat with my spec's and it will most likely outperform even apples "equivalent", but who'd like to invest in a $12000 trashcan when my build should stay under $4000?.. :)

***** Yes, why we all can;t simply just get along in this world will always remain "above" me and I'm 6.5' tall.. :D Finally found a BUG (I'm sure there's many more) which seem related to the NEW proxy function. Granted My HPE 410-Y's using the same ATI Radeon HD 5570, still I'm sure any good video tool shouldn't paint itself into the same o'l Sony corner.. After having created proxy files for my Samsung HDV.mp4 clips, as I change the preview from Best/full to any of those good or draft selections, which SHOULD enable the pre-generated proxy versions, Sony Vegas Pro crashes w/o even the infamous "tell us what happened again" dialog.. I guess at least on my system it's back to the "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" deal. To Sony s defense, It's way(!!!) better/faster/more stable than V11 so I'm definitively Upgrading in a near future.. :)

I use Movie Studio Plantinum 13. It dosent seem to render. Yes I watched 30 min tutorial and picked all options suggested. My video was 10 minutes long. It uploads 2 of 2 and the final 3 of 3 crashes every time. As for render stops half way through. Thanks
