Sony WH-H900N / H.ear on2 install and review. With 9 gesture controls

Sony WH-H900N H.ear on2 install, app and review.
Connected the wh-h900n to a Sony xperia xz1 compact.
It has 9 gesture controls.
I have one complaint.
Sharp closeups shot with Xperia XZ1 compact
WH-H900N:
- supports iPhone 5 and up.
- tested it with win 7 (with bluetooth) and it works with that too.
- depending on the song it is not loud enough and on some it is.
- it is not waterproof.
- controls volume, number forward and backwards, fast forward and backwards, pause and play music/ vid, google assist or siri.

If you want the app to have ambient sound volume control for the WH-900N than give this comment a thumps up. Maybe Sony reads it and does something with it.

Awesome review man, the one with the saw check for noise cancelling was the best. Do you think the build quality is good enough to last a couple of years?

Thanks. After watching the vid of "Sandy Oak" kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJbEd2V6hadqb5Y i ordered the mdr-nc750 to try and do the same with the wh-h900n. The build quality is decent. My only concern is the the swiveling of the earpieces ( 0.49 sec in the vid kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZzUo3uVpst-f5o ) It feels those stops are made of plastic and if i would turn more they'd break. So it really depends on how you use them.

I got one, great headphone, accu is great, almost 36 hours with noise canceling, and 42 hours without, sound is really good, love this headset, i got a Sennheiser on my pc, wired one, also pretty good, but the Sony has better bass.

I’ve had these now for a couple of years. They are great. But unfortunately lost two charger cables, including the one that came with. Ordered a new one but it does not charge. Blue light just blinks. Not sure how to get these charged.

I have tried many times, but the headset simply doesn't connect with my 3 phones, one is an iPhone. I have been doing this with other headsets and got no problem except this Sony WH-H900N. However, it can detect other devices from my neighbors. How do I go about it?

Great headphones but super anoyed with having to reconnect them to my device to use them to talk trough. That’s my issue using them with messenger

@@justRijk I charged it, I installed the headphones app from Google Play, I selected blue tooth and pair new device, but it named my phone as the device and then I did get the headphones to list on the blue tooth thing, but then nothing.. I don't know how to view instructions on my phone or select a connection or whatever you do...🙄

I think I don't I have the order of operations right -- although I am trying to follow their stupid picture instructions WITH NO WORDS...😒 -- LIKE they don't make enough millions in order to employ a person to write a set of good instructional WORDS to accompany the illustrations.... THAT would be way logical...🙄

Can you get rid of the beeping sound when using gesture control? Also, does it work with gloves on?

No, the beeping is a feedback to let you know you are using the gesture-controls and it can not be turned off. Tested the gesture-controls with leather and woolen gloves and very thin latex once. Result: No with gloves on the gesture-controls don't work. Only with very thin latex ones it does. Heated up (blow-dryer) the leather gloves than it works a bit. Think the gesture-control-pad uses the warmth of the finger.

Thanks for the reply! I wish the beeping could be turned off in the app as I don't think it's necessary, but maybe it's just me. To me it would be definitely a bit of annoyance.

Could it be that the noice canceling is not working well because I use a Huawei while on the box it says its ment to be for Iphone?

On the box i have it says: "for Android, iOS". Sony uses android on their phones. It doesn't cancel out everything. The other vid i posted comes pretty close to what it does for noise canceling. When you put in the audio-plug into the headphone it will stay on. The other end doesn't need to be in any device. When doing this you eliminate the phone as a culprit. Hope it helps. ps next time you can use dutch if you want to.

Should I still be hearing a lot with the noise canceling feature? i.e do I need music to be playing w/ NC or should NC by itself be blocking out all/most* sounds?

For the headphones to stay on you need to have either the wire in it. or have it connected to blue-tooth. The earphones them-self reduce the surrounding noise a bit NC reduces the surrounding noise a lot more. Specially with airplane and car-noise to get ride of those you don't need to have music playing. I'm having a lot of trouble connection this to my windows 10 laptop and desktop computer any suggestions?

I connected it to my netbook with win 7. My windows is not in English, so i could have some of the words wrong. First set the Bluetooth on your pc to scan for new devices. Than press the "on switch" on the headphone for 7 seconds (it will say pairing) let go of the button. Than your pc should find it. I did get a warning triangle after installing. The headphone was paired, but did not work (no sound no controls). In "devices and printer" i found the headphones. Right click on the headphones, then select properties (bottom one) press enter, select 3rd tab "services" select headphone and put a check-mark in it (it didn't have one in mine) (in mine everything now has a check-mark in it). Press oke. Than they should work. On the pc i put under the tv i have a Bluetooth dongle, it to get to it i will need to take of the tv. If this doesn't work i'll get that one and try it on win 10. Let me know if you got it working.

Thanks. When you put the wire into the earphones it switches off it's Bluetooth. So the app doesn't work. Tested it with the equalizers of the app off. The sound is the same, however the volume with the wire is less loud. On my phone it was about 2 clicks. With the wire and the headphones powered off. It loses a bit of the high tones and it is another two clicks down in volume.

You are in luck. This is a comparison of the wh-1000xm2 and the wh-h900n. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpiqfZptabt2p80 He says the wh-1000xm2 pauses the song when you put your hand over the right earphone. I want to add to that, the wh-h900n when your hand is over the right earphone mutes the sound to level 1 so you can talk to someone.

Can't really tell you what to look for. Mine came as a preorder gift from Sony with my xz1 c. So it is an original one. On the inside of the right side (no buttons) it has a red circle with R (the R is white) in it. On the left side (the one with the buttons) it has a lightgrey circle with a white L in it. Under that is a text and logo's: Digital (than logo of NFC) (th logo bluetooth). Under that: Model: WH-H900N Sony Corporation 1-7-7 Konan Minato-ku Tokyo, 108-0075 Japan MADE IN MALAYSIA 5V (than a straight line with a doted line under it ) under that CE (proofmark) behind it a pictogram of a crossed out container. I don't do workouts. Making the garden is my workout. I have used it when getting the ice of the car, burning the weed of the vegetable garden, painting what will become a 3 card miner and putting timber in its place outside. Don't use it when using the circular saws or a sander to not expose it to to much dust. To answer your question I tired jogging, that works out fine. Site-ups not so much than it tends to slide of your head when you come up. Hope this helps. If not which workout can i test for you?

I have worn the wh-h900n for p to 4 hours. Weight is ok for me. And i like they way they feel and fit. I wouldn't do long workouts with them cause than they will be a bit warm.

No you can't mute the mic with the headset. You can only mute the mic of the headset with your phone.

Sound like it's not pairing with your phone. To pair: switch on Bluetooth on your phone, go to settings on your phone, click on "device connection", switch on headphones, click on "pair new device" your phone will search for a new device. It now should appear on your phone (Available devices), click on it, now a box appears click on "pair". Then it should be paired and you hear Bluetooth connected from your headphones.

Tested it. About 4 hours than i start to feel my left ear top left. This was pc work. Readjusting them (10 seconds off) That added another 1.5 hour. Walking a bit helps too. The earpieces measure (without pressing in the the foam) on the inside: width x hight x depth = 35mm x 60mm x 18mm (depth is measured on the inner microphone it sticks a bit).

Some songs are loud and others I'd wish were a bit louder. They won't hurt your hearing. Tested them also on the hifi and that started to give a de-stored sound before the max i like for headphones. Tested it with Bob Marley album Africa united collection. Madonna album confessions on the dance floor, James Brown Get Up offa that thing. Had the clear bass on +10 (in the app). If compared to my Sennheiser cx400II (in-ear) the wh-h900n has a little more bass. But than in-ears have good bass. If i compare it to my previous car with dls up6 and pioneer sub 300watt nom 1200 watt max. Car had way more. James Brown Get Up offa that thing. Was amazing in it. You didn't just hear it, you felt it. When i compare the weight of the wh-h900n to the other sony's it's a bit heavier but they all have a 40 mm driver-unit. Damping the car doors increased the weight and helped the sound. Think the weight helps the sound of the wh-h900n also. The bass is good, but not amazing. If it could play a bit louder I'd given it a very good. It's true strength is its clarity. Tracks sound wider. In Micheal Jackson's Human nature there is a xylophone that's playing outside your left ear almost the entire song and i never noticed that before. In Micheal Jackson 's Bad there is a sound that moves from left to right and than to left again and it literately sounds like is going through your head out the left ear than back in moving towards the right. If you listen to the tracks you'll know what i try to point out. Hope it helps you.

What the NC like?

PC noise it cancels out almost completely. Central heating system burner and fan it cancels out almost completely. Plains flying over are completely gone. Circular saw and the fan above the stove the low frequencies are gone, the middle and higher once are somewhat muted but you can still hear them. Music played on the stereo sounds muted and the high ones can still be heard. A bit like James bond Never say never. The difference between hearing the music in room next to it looking trough the mirror / being in the dance-room itself, but the difference in volume is bigger than in this clip. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4ulhHyprJ5pnck Seems like the higher the frequencie, the less the noise-canceling works and it works better with repeating noise, but less good at sudden chancing ones.
