Thanks! One question ... There are games that also have IN-GAME HDR adjustment. Should you also switch off HDR tone mapping there and then switch back to "Gratation preffered"? For example in Battlefield V?

I purchased the 65 900f 3 yrs ago. I was impressed with the picture display. So much so, I purchased the 75 x90j. I've viewed several videos trying to get my picture settings adjusted. I applied these settings to the 900f (as well as the x90j) and the picture is amazing! Only a videofile can see the difference between the two panels. hi classy! you are the reason i bought the x90j over the 85 j, you confirmed my suspicion over the interlacing issue with vertical resolution changing when 4k 120 enabled, its a shame i TRIED so hard to want to love the x85j, BUT I LOVE MY x90j! it is comparable to an lg c1, well there are a lot of reviews comparing them and i am not complaining i love my tv thank yoU!@

Hey guys, I have a 55" Sony X900F in my family room and just got a 65" X90J for my basement. Upon initial viewing, it just seems clear that the X900F has better color and contrast. I remember FOMO mentioning something about 2018 was a peak year for LCD tech. Was the X900F series a better TV? I dabbled for months on whether to pull the trigger and just get the A80J. My wife shut that down, but now I'm gonna have buyer's remorse (ie, why spend 2/3 as much for a picture I don't love than spend 50% more and get a picture I do love). I am really happy with the picture on the X900F.

Correct on the HDMI. I'm not playing games on the X900F. But I am now considering upgrading the X90J to the LG C1. It's available at a really good price right now.

Nice video but you went through the settings way to quick. People are watching your video then looking at the TV making adjustments with the remote then looking back at your video which they probably have on pause. Slow it down a bit or have a settings info card up on the screen. It was like you were racing through it at break net speed. You are familiar with these settings most people are not.

I just brought this tv from Costco and I was so excited to finally bring it home and set it up and it looked terrible. I don't know why. The local channels looks fuzzy and grainy. The streaming looks fuzzy and weird and the physical media looks the best but still. I don't want to take it back just yet without knowing if it's something I'm not doing.

Hello there, I have a Question regarding my Sony Bravia XR55X90J Tv. This TV supports 120Hz refresh rate for PlayStation and all other HDMI inputs. The thing is I would like to watch some content on KZbin in 120hz format i.e 2160p120 or even 1080p120. I don't know if my TV doesn't support that or KZbin doesn't have any 120 hz videos on the Platform. Although I don't mind in this case, I find it true for the most part. Can't search something (videos, articles, forums, you name it) that only has excellent picture quality information for cable/streaming, or just general TV viewing, because of the focus that most reviewers are giving to gaming, be it for monitors or tvs. Almost Can't find anything, specially on the monitor side of things, where I don't care about those "gaming features" that they like to charge extra oh so much.

You seem to know your stuff. If I have a PS5, Xbox and a 5.1 HDMI surround sound, does it matter that I cant plug the surround sound into the earc port and would have to use the basic HDMI port instead? (as PS5 would be using that port)

You shouldn’t have to once you set it it should be saved so when you watch a HDR movie this setting should be there for HDR and when you watch a Dolby Vision movie the setting should be the same you shouldn’t have to always change the expert one or expert to

Depends on seating distance and if off angle at all. X90J loses its image quality off angle a lot.

Where do I start the video/changing settings when I'm on the TV home screen and it says, "picture - Apps (Video)" also is it just me or are these settings way too dark... Sorry Classy, but if 20p is -15,-15,-15 for point 1 and -5,-5,-5 for point 2, when transferred to 10p shouldn't be -5,-5,-5 for point 1? -15,-15,-15 shouldn't be the 0,5p (which is not present) in the 10p setting?

The 5 range is off by a bigger margin than 10. With the 10-point control, 1 adjusts 10, but has an effect on 5. So a 15 adjustment is fine for most people who are only going to use the 10 point. I measured both 5 and 10 range with that adjustment to make sure 10 wasn't getting too dark. Don't want to recommend changing it too much and then they lose detail. Unlocking the 20 point would be the best way though.

I would look up the rtings review for the 10% and full field brightness numbers then round that up to the nearest 50, and count your clicks to match that.
