Few things that I would like to mention for the Xperia 1ii : 1. Absence of High refresh rate panel is not Sony's mistake that's a limitation of SD865 that could only support display upto 4K@60Hz..... 2. The finger print scanner is not slow...... it looks like it's slow because of unlocking animation that Sony had their to give a richer look while unlocking..... Just like with XZ premium from 2017 had that LOOPS animation while unlocking....... 3. Their are some flaws here and there with front and rear cameras which Sony said will be fixed soon..... Like in Japanese units there is an issue where video looks out of focus while recording in 1080p@60fps with main camera and ultra wide camera..... 4. Also dedicated night mode and RAW support will come through an update as stated by Sony..... This year we should appreciate Sony for thrashing and breaking various barriers they faced for SONY MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS from other divisions........ And PHOTO PRO and CINEMA PRO is just a small taste of SONY's smartphone's capability.

They kept the maximum brightness lower than typically what the others can do to prevent the main problem of OLEDs to occur - burn in. Just take a look at how many have complained about the OnePlus 8 Pro and Galaxy S20 Ultra's screens having greenish tints right from the beginning of their release, compared to flawless OLED panels from Sony. In fact, I am yet to find someone who suffers burn in issues with their Xperia XZ3, a 2018 phone.
@miladshahrestani13494 жыл бұрын
That's why they call it SONY ... means Quality and Reliability not just making money and profit.. Sony is not just a brand, it's been and it is a trust that you pay for
@Alexander01894 жыл бұрын
Your point is kind of flawed....burn in issues on oled screens are pretty much a thing of the past now for the most part. You mentioned burn in but then you said about green tint issues, they're completely different issues. I've had a vast number of oled phones and never experienced burn in. It's an old problem (apart from I imagine a very small number of cases) which gives Sony a get out clause. Think the only ever time I experienced burn in was with a galaxy S7 I got in 2016 which was a second hand device which I returned immediately 😂. Sony have been behind in phones for so long now, the only people who generally use Sony phones are people who have only ever used Sony phones, so much better competition out there. It would take a lot for me to be convinced to buy a Sony phone.
@TDDPhoto4 жыл бұрын
Burn in isn't that big of an issue anymore. My Galaxy Note 9 is nearly two years old, the display has been on at full brightness almost all the time and there are no signs of burn in even though it is able to get twice as bright as the Xperia. Either way this is gonna be my next phone, everything about it is stunning. It might not be the best in any one category but it's such a well rounded device.
@Alexander01894 жыл бұрын
Tim Kuipers exactly ☺ it's no longer an issue on phones nowadays. Some issues will exist still yes but they are very few and far between. Saying that Sony chose a lower brightness to prevent burn in is just a copout. But ye that's fair enough, it looks like a nice device but it's definitely not the phone of the year.
@TDDPhoto4 жыл бұрын
@@Alexander0189 Fanboys will always try to justify things that make no sense. The only reason why the Xperia has a lower brightness is probably due to the resolution (remember when the first QHD phones also had dimmer displays than their 1080p counterparts). And yeah, unfortunately I live in Europe so I have to deal with Exynos on Samsung. The only other option would be the OnePlus 8 Pro for me which has a couple of advantages over the Sony but that's also the other way around.

Power Control while other “pro” reviewers just gloss over that innovation. Mark my words, when Apple and Samsung copy the 4K and H.S. Power Control all the sheep and “pro” reviewers will commit suicide because they think it is an innovation. Heck they might mention it in “millisecond” that it’s from Sony. Subscribed!

@@TechNick for still photography I always love the pixel 4 XL. But for versatility I give it to the Huawei p30 pro do to the zoom capability and modes like night mode, light modes and silky water. Might not use these modes often but it's nice to have if I want to play around. Plus the battery on the Huawei p30 pro is awesome. If it had a fingerprint scanner and front firing speakers I would probably keep it. I really don't like face unlock on the pixel 4 XL I rather have a dedicated fingerprint sensor.as for the Samsung S10 I gave it to my wife I wasn't much for the oversaturation of pitches in abundance of modes that I really never used. But the battery was decent too.I hope you can do that camera comparison soon because I'm really itching for another smartphone. LOL considering I just purchased the p30 pro a a month ago. Don't forget to test HDR in daylight and at night in the Photo Pro app! The front and telephoto are samsung sensors that's why the sensor image quality are different cz they are from different manufacturers. The rest are sony's (main and ultrawide) . It would be nice if you mention sensor models/manufacturers in future phone reviews. All that said, the review was wonderful!

Yep, always use Photo Pro app's Auto HDR functionality, as most people are fools who think that heavily processed images are always better. They'd even go as far as saying that their beloved Samsung and Apple are better than the A7III due to the supposed "wider dynamic range" bullshit on the JPEG files😂
@jakilahmoulien90704 жыл бұрын
@@troy5568 yeah we need to educate them. Cameras won't do exposure bracketing to process/merge photos in hardware like phones. If the camera had HDR post processing like phones their mouths would stay shut. But as of now we'll have to shoot raw and edit on PC. Most phone users don't consider that. The phone just does more processing steps. Cameras give you freedom to get results u want in post production.

Already pre-ordered the xperia 1ii.... its just, perfect. and the creator mode, aka purity... i already tune my gaming monitors using an x-rite colorimeter tool (iDisplay Pro) so I will pretty much leave the phone in creators mode all the time. I HATE/LOATH blown out colors for the sake of fooling people into thinking its better. purity is better in my mind. Most gaming monitors, the skin tones of people are too red... people always look tan and colors are blown way out (which makes colors that ARE dull, look weird, like browns). after tuning, people look natural, like I see them in real life, and then colors look proper too, reds look the proper red, browns proper brown, so on and so fourth. add in the fact of the insane storage (256gb vs my current phone which only has 128gb) its a huge boost in storage, not to mention my current phone (OG pixel xl) doesn't have expandable storage, where as I could put a 512gb SD card (and 1TB once they release) into the xperia 1ii.... headphone jack, well im an audiophile and wireless headphones can't come close to typical wired connection headphones.... this phone, is THE phone to own for the next 4ish years (im still on an OG pixel xl, yeah 4 year old phone, i dont upgrade often)
