functionality of camera is the problem with this phone, in both applications photo pro as well as stock camera there is lacking functionality, modes, features, processing. there is no night mode there , ultrawide does not work as a macro... there’s just so much things missing and just cumbersome. But most importantly is that the processing does not even compete with 2 year old iPhone 11

I agree that the macro is lacking, and it is unacceptable. As for the rest, especially the processing, Sony relies on taking a good snap with the hardware, rather than messing with the software. The night mode kicks in in dark shots automatically.

Of course there is missing some features in the auto mode like nigth mode but the photo pro mode is some of the best manual controlls you can have on the phone and here the Xpeeria 5 ii delievers excellent nigth shoots better then i have seen on many other flagships if you know what you doing the same for the cinema pro app and if there are missing some features sony will for sure implement them in future updates. And i aggree with the you tuber the Xperia 5 ii is a much better option then any iphone. Iphones have outdates ui and if you download something from their apple store you have to pay and all of there iphones are totally overpriced compaire to other android phones

@@Serbofreak Relying on smartophone hardware only when it comes to taking photos is Sony's blatant stupidity. You simply can't do that! It's impossible to take great photos without proper processing (no need to mess with software - see Google, Apple, Samsung) with lenses and sensors of that size. Sony just don't want to invest into it so to cover this breach they just gave "full control" of Photo Pro app knowing that it won't be any good results anyway - just for fun=time waste.

MI 10 Ultra for instagramable photos and portrait, Sony for natural looks and potential for editing in post.

@@KelvinHew7 The cinema Pro app is very bland when it comes to the color profile which allows for more editing than on other phones. You won't be able to crop much given the 12 mega pickles, but it will be color accurate and stable.

No, it doesn't and it's quite likely that upcoming Xperia 1 III won't have it either. And Sony have got a "legitimate" excuse for it - "our Alpha cameras don't have Face Unlock! It's not a Pro feature!"

I have a bit different experience with this "marvel" of 2020. Unfortunately it is not so great as I thought. The most disappointing parts are camera system and screen (coming from Huawei P40 Pro, Google Pixel 4). Camera is just hit or miss all the time whatever mode / app I used. I never had so many blurry, out of focus, underexposed, blown out highlights shots with any of my previous smartphones. EV compensation nearly imposible to use outdoors due to low brightness of the screen. Photos in not perfect light conditions are quite bad compared even with my old good Galaxy S9+. Screen quality / brightness / colors are clearly worse than on Pixel 4. I noticed it straight away when transfered data from one phone to another. Basically the only things I like about this phone are sound quality (both from speakers and headphones), design / size and a cool toy called "Photo Pro app". Seriously this phone is severely overpriced, not worth money Sony is asking for it for sure. Missing Wireless charging and that stupid Google assistant button are just a bad joke really.
