Sony Xperia E3 Review

What I can see is a really really honest review ever. This is because I have been using Sony Xperia Z Ultra right from the day it was launched and I know Sony's quality right from childhood. I was under impression that Sony Xperia E3 would shake the mid segment but with this review and another review about Moto G 2nd Generation, I am damn sure Sony is going to loose war in mid segment. Motorola should understand that Flipkart only business is a stupid thing. If they want to capture mass, come and play in India. It's a big play ground with people having decent taste for quality as well.

how is notification panel ? notification come fast ? or its slow as nokia x2 or nokia xl? actually i owned Nokia xl but its heat and notification not fast as in compare to samsung devices as i have samsung Tab3 smt 211 .... can you post some picture and video sample from front camera in day light and indoor night lights ? suggestion - use subtitle in detail when specify the specification .. and you do nice work with detail and user friendly review Thanks

Why your zoom is different than mine? I have the same phone - Sony Xperia E3. And I have problem. If I want zoom some image I do double click still hold my finger on the display, slide slightly forward, for zoom in (+), and for zoom out (-) slide back my finger. I wanna do normal zoom as distance and approach my fingers. I need somebody help me. Just tell me same option to fix this. Thank you in advance.

Can the default be set as external sd card to install apps? Like in other handsets with low internal memory such as micromax unite 2. Would installing a class 10 memory card solve low internal memory issue on this phone?

TerrorMr No. External SD card can't be set as default storage. There's no option of preferred install location.

Jay Soni, since you remarked that the phone is 'unnecessarily big', for your information the phone has a 2330 mAh battery. To fit the battery without adding thickness, some parts of the phone had to be fitted above and below the screen. This move has enabled the phone to provide a battery life of close to two days. Your Micromax Canvas A1 on the other hand has only a 1700 mAh battery. So kindly do your research before giving your stupid opinions.

Is Samsung the ONLY brand that uses the MENU, HOME, BACK shortcut buttons? It really annoys me that it seems like it, because I really like that layout. Don't like these other Android phone layouts of BACK, HOME, HISTORY, as you can just hold in the HOME button on a Samsung phone to get access to the HISTORY. Feels annoying/pointless having a dedicated button for HISTORY, whereas you could have had a MENU button instead. Now, with these other Android phones you have to go look for the 3 little dots in each application to access the MENU functions :(

The MENU button appears when it has to. You always have a button with three little squares on top of each other in apps, this is the MENU button. I personally reeally prefer the virtual buttons because you have that HISTORY button, it's so boring to longpress that HOME button. I use the HISTORY button very often so yeah, virtual buttons are really better. They disappear when they have to, etc..

MKyron | Tutorials To teach his own I guess. I prefer to have an actual, physical menu button. Don't like to go hunting for those 3 little dots in an app, especially since it changes position in some apps. Liked it when Samsung had a dedicated, physical menu button. Now, with the S5/S5 mini they went and changed the button layout to be like nearly every other bloody Android phone. I find that, dare I say, cowardly, because having a dedicated menu button separated them from other brands. Now, they're just another face in the crowd.

If you're not liking faces in the crowd, then why don't buy a phone that doesn't have a micro-USB port for recharging? I don't know... A Taiwanese socket, for example? That would be an easier and better way to recharge, I agree. If you really don't want to be another face in the crowd, then try it out! You'll sure feel different. More seriously, if Samsung has adopted this layout, it is because it's better, because users asked for it.

sophiecoolgirl13 I don't have a PS3 so i don't know. But you can try it. If nothing, it will recognize it as a mass storage device at least. Why do you want to connect it to a PS3 anyway? If you are thinking remote play, then i don't think that will work.

Arbis larke I don't have Moto G second generation so can't tell about its music quality but this is a Sony phone. It comes with Walkman app, It has all sorts of music customization option. And its music quality is very decent by default anyway.

Lost Spirit ™ if you ask me, and Im someone that cares a lot about sound - it is awful. Built in filters, compressors, limters etc make it sound like you play music on cheap 5.1 speakers, even when it is connected to hi-fi amp via 3.5 jack. Also, it is very quiet in it's crushed and flat sound. Like there is NO DYNAMIC RANGE. Many problems with FLAC format, skips from track to another. Very often activates Google speak. It seems like phone recognize 3.5 jack cable as earbuds with mic. Sometimes music stops for few seconds without any reason. My Sony Xperia E3 is up-to-date and still has all these problems. Big NO to Sony Xperia E3 when it is about music.

This is a terrible phone, I bought one a month ago and I had my own 8gb sd card for storage. Heres why its so bad, Terrible front facing camera, with no flash. might as well have no front camera. Awful rear camera with over saturated colours, and grainy images in low/standard light. And worst of all its very poor internal storage, I have only 8 (small sized) apps and the phone wont even let me update them as there is no space. And I have all pics music etc stored on my sd card. And even then there is no space on internal storage. Its polluted with bloatware that you cannot delete. (unless you want to root) but that in itself is a hastle. Dont buy this phone , im sorry I did.

your problem is that you bought a small memory card, had the same phone and i bought a memory card with additional gb also if you want to take pictures use a proper camera

Jonny Freud 8gb is a small memory card for a few pics and no music or videos? My previous phone Y300, took far better quality pics front and back. With no memory issues and that only had a 2gb memory card. And they're cheaper than this piece of rubbish, the only thing you're paying for is kitkat. Also, if a phone advertises a 5mp camera I would expect it to be decent quality. Not like this pile.
