I often hear kpop fans argue about how jury's shouldn't vote anymore in survival shows because it's rigged. like I get your point, but let's not act as if the audience is that reliably either. I still remember that clip where the audience let 2 girl trough just because they were cute, not because they had the talent for it. Both sides are rigged tbh. the jury due to what the show wants and who they prefer and the audience because people still care more about looks in such shows than they do about talent.

About 6th opinion. I totally agree. Can a person who can't cook become a chief? No. Can a person who can't fly a plane become a pilot? No. So why are people who can't sing and preform able to become idols? Of course mistakes are normal and everyone makes them but there is a difference between making only a few mistakes and making mistakes in every single performance. Imagine yourself going into a restaurant you really love. If a chief makes a mistake while preparing the meal you paid for once you would probably be disappointed but not mad because mistakes happen. Now imagine that same chief messing up EVERYTIME you pay for a meal. You would probably be very mad, right? See? That is how many blinks felt paying for Blackpink tour. Now can you tell me what would happen to a chief that keeps messing up the meals? He would get fired. So why are idols being protected by their fans for constantly making mistakes and why are they even able to keep their jobs?

Not everybody can be a kpop idol, everyone have talents in different fields but as we have made these idols look so glorious that every thing they do looks right even if it is completely wrong like completing your education should be your first priority in you life, it can make you feel confident and you can live with respect and dignity. the paving the way opinion (number 24) was spot on!!!! like i know there are a bunch of really shitty armys that shove "bts paved the way" down everyone's throats the moment another group/idol achieves something, but the ones that say it only when it's necessary only mean one thing when they say it: "bts has opened yet another door for kpop". nothing more, nothing less. they simply unlocked something new. now if some other group/idol achieves the same thing, we should only congratulate them and be happy for them rather than being a petty mf, saying bts did it first every two seconds.
@ssfghjgghhgrdcbbnmjgddxcggg Жыл бұрын
A few days ago I read an interesting comment about this. The comments said that is not really the truth that bts or bp paved the way but to put it simply people were looking for new things and that's were kpop became big. And I agree with this like vixx had huge concerts in the west before the bts stardom, wonder girls and snsd were already really popular in the west and bigbang too but I feel like at the first they were just like jpop, they know that only being popular in Japan could already economically doing great and I believe kpop did the same (aside from YG who tbh was really west oriented since the start) so I don't really feel like nobody paved anything, they are more successful, sure but we shouldn't just act like other groups did nothing. (sorry for my bad English)
@itstoohotarmy8238 Жыл бұрын
@@ssfghjgghhgrdcbbnmjgddxcggg hmm. I feel like you're right, I've also seen many videos that talk about bts paving the way as well as people disagreeing with the idea. i do believe that paving the way cannot be done by a single group, that's just not possible. and yes, you're right in saying there were other bigger groups like snsd and bigbang, but i think the major reason for the mentality of bts paving the way lies in the fact that they aren't just performing in the west, they aren't just popular, they're winning awards in western music shows left and right, which I believe nobody in kpop did before. bts is the reason why the kpop category is even there in billboard, they're the reason why fans like us can dream of our favorite idols winning huge awards like the amas or the bbmas. of course, no artist really requires western validation and a shelf full of trophies to prove they make good music, bc if these awards were really about the music then literally half the kpop industry should be dominating these awards and award shows bc let's not pretend like their production and quality of performance and songs itself are less worthy than the songs that are receiving awards now. but we unfortunately live in a world where these kinds of things do hold a lot of value. so yeah, i guess that's my reasoning. and honestly i really haven't come across people that speak their opinion without directly hating on bts, so we're really not one to blame when it comes to that. most of the people don't wanna accept the fact that even if they didn't literally pave the way, they still opened so many doors for the kpop industry as a whole and are still such a big part of South Korea's economy. if people didn't act like they have a stick up their ass every time bts achieves something and say only hateful things because they think them achieving said thing makes their favorite group/idol somehow inferior, i don't think this would even be such a hot topic for debate. (your English is amazing don't worry!!!)

First of all k-pop stans should understand the meaning of paving the way it literally mean making it easier for others .When we say BTS paved the way that doesnt mean your favs didn't worked hard to be where they are now.Working hard doesn't always bring the result there requires a chance or a stage and exposure to prove themselves.Many k-pop idols who has the first hand experience have literally said that BTS paved the way, they made it easy for them and yet here the supposed fans are having different opinions about it.Can they just be grateful like they're fav?. No matter how much you deny majority of the gp knew about a thing called k-pop exist because of BTS. There were several other group of the second generation who promoted in the US too but none of them had the same impact as bts, atleast acknowledge they are the first KPOP group to have a stadium world tour heck they even sold out the Wembley.

Yeah, 7 got me! I think those opinions are a sign of someone who hasn't really delved too deep into their discography, seeing as Soyeon knows how to write incredible lyrics as is evident from nearly every album. For example, I Trust, with the exception of omg english version, was fully written by Soyeon ALONE, and I don't think anyone is going to deny the sheer artistry of Lion, which is just one of her many best! Queencard is the way it is because she wrote it to be "cringey" and carefree and FUN, the Tomboy rap is the way it is because she wrote it to be catchy to korean audiences (and it worked!). Most of what i disagreed with was based on personal opinions. 7. This ones the gidle needs better lyrics, personally i don't really have a problem with their lyrics, rarely do i cringe at it so i half agree and half disagree with this one. 9. The not watching survival shows thing because it's rigged. This isn't really a disagree since i think your opinion was about the "it's rigged" i'm still gonna watch it either way, it's fun, i'm just curious about how skilled people are and not really about if they get into the next round or not. Don't usually watch them so i'm not sure how rigged it actually is so i'm not gonna comment on the it's rigged part. 12. kpop on tiktok. While it would get old quickly, i honestly don't have a problem with it being on tiktok, to me it's just a fun way for more kpop stans to learn choreographies to these song. Kinda like how we used to learn them for random play dances and such. 16. child talking to idols. The way you worded it does make it sound bad but personally for me it's just kids meeting people they look upto. If we were to word everything like that then taking kids to disneyland (for example) so they can meet the characters would sound weird because most of the workers are grown men and women. Yes, their job is entertaining the kids and being in character but an idols job is pretty similar. If the idols were to say something weird (which i doubt) then it would be a problem. i guess personally i'd say that it's okay but adult supervision would be good as well. what i would agree with is that some people that get those fansign calls don't deserve it, like some fans using pickup lines and making it very awkward, especially if these fans are way too young.

Mostly agree, but respectfully disagree with #6. Loads of kpop artists are blasted by fans for “bad stage presence” until they collapse on stage or until their injuries or health conditions are discovered later. So fans have been proven to be dumb at times and can’t always differentiate between fatigue and indifference. Plus, the whole “it’s a job” rhetoric is imo unhealthy. No one’s job requires 100% effort all the time and everyone deserves the right to take time off. Plenty of kpop artists who give 100% most of the time also perform while seated on stage during certain concerts or take months off to recover. It doesn’t reflect poorly on their character or work ethic, they’re just people. It’s always “give us more” until they’re in hospital, then fans wanna care about their health and coddle them in retrospect, like it undoes all the online hate. Let the artists themselves decide how much they can give and respect their choices, and I’m sure they’ll respect fans’ choice to follow or unfollow

Like I said, take time off when needed but when people slack off after taking plenty of rest but are apparently fit enough to do other (less important) activities like red carpets, parties and clubbing or fashion events etc. then it seems fishy that all of their energy suddenly goes away right when it’s time to perform?

That being said, covering a song can never be a public business. If anyone can complain about the cover, it's the ones who have writing and production credit. And still none of those opinions offended me.

Really heavy on the things you said about bts, about lip syncing in kpop and about idols needing to get a minimum amount of education that is high school!!

Unlike most stans of musicians (not just of Kpop but also other genres), I'm not easily offended for my faves. I'll also only be brutal if the musician or singer in question did something truly vile and horrible. So I can really respect someone being very honest about their opinions, respectful of personal likes and dislikes, yet still not excusing objectively bad behavior. Too many fans make excuses, so your content is refreshing to see (especially having experienced the Kpop-hating, oft racist, cultish nightmare that was RateYourMusic). Honestly, I agree with all these opinions, except that I'm a little more open-minded about rappers co-writing raps since it has an illustrious history since the 80s when it began. I won't say it's the best thing to do, but, hey, it gave us NWA and I can't exactly call them lesser rappers. Good video!👍🏼

It’s for those two as well but also for the thighs thing. There are idols with full jeans using blanket as well. Very few times will you ever see idols sitting normally with their thighs laid flat, they’re either twisted, covered or leaning towards

I agree with everything except that one about gidle, soyeon is a great songwriter, just cause she wrote two songs in her career that have what kpop fans call "cringey lyrics" (which i don't btw, i think it's funny but it's my opinion ofc), it's not going to erase all the previous gidle albums where she wrote incredible lyrics and songs i will never get tired of. I feel like people tend to forget everything soyeon has written before and only focus on tomboy and queencard to embarrass her. I think it's not fair to her Maybe when it comes to english lyrics it would indeed be better to do it with an english speaking writer, or let an english speaking writer do it (which is now happening with their upcoming EP heat), but saying that soyeon needs to stop writing for gidle as a whole, is quite unfair to all the exclusively korean stuff she's written imo.

@@-amel-9896 Thats literally what i said if you read my comment proprely. I never pretended her english lyrics were good. My problem however is when people discredit her WHOLE songwriting skills saying she should stop writing for gidle at all (like its said in this video) as if all the great lyrics she wrote in korean didnt exist. Thats what im saying
@moonchild7425 Жыл бұрын
I love Soyeon's writing style. I think she can bring it back. But post Tomboy English raps have been utterly cringeworthy. That isn't a Soyeon problem tho, she isn't a fluent English speaker. However, it would've been better if they hired an English writer for those. And now that gidle is coming up with an English EP, I really wonder if the same corny lyrics will be seen again.

Agreed no. 18. Everyone needs a basic high school education before they are working as idols. I just know so many idols are struggling in their 40s bc they dropped out at middle school to train for 18h a day, so that's all they know how to do and can't have other careers
@aleahscottage Жыл бұрын
Wonyoung seriously gets ignored so much for her looks over her singing and it's SO FRUSTRATING. because women are SO MUCH MORE than their bodies. Wonyoung is also confident, a role model, and lets be real here, although she isn't the best, she is still a good singer and dancer (ofc improvement could be made. I'm not starship though). Seriously the wonyoung hate is unbearable, as though people can't bear to see a successful, pretty woman. It's so immature and hurtful. On top of all that the industry already is. Like bfr. Good opinions btw, honestly some of them are just facts.

the only one that got me upset was 7 haha I don't get why people say some lyrics of soyeon are cringe, they are really fun to me, but maybe it has something to do with english not being my first language, I guess because of that I don't listen to it in the same way you do, but I still find them very fun and catchy and even if they were cringe, I don't really see the problem? also, that point aside, I really love that you brought up wendy's performance because that woman it's a beast on stage and I don't think she gets enough credit
