Sooze buys a Suhr JM Pro!!! - Tone Junkie TV

The Sooze finally broke down and bought his own JM Pro or classic JM or whatever they are called now! I guess the allure of those punchy, Fat Suhr S-90s finally got to him. So let's compare his new Gold Suhr JM Pro with S90s to my gold JM Pro with SSv's and to his Suhr T with Thornbuckers.

This video put me over the top and I purchased the blue JM Pro 510 with S90s. Got a fantastic deal on it new by simply asking. Should be in next week. Can’t wait.

I like the T best with thornbuckers, then the SSV and then the P90. They all sound great! I’m getting a JM Pro with SSV/ stoptail, then trying to find that suhr classic T with thornbuckers and Trem is nearly impossible!

I recently got a JM Pro with the P90's, sounded great in your other video's. Sooze playing it was terrific. Love the chime it brings. I now have 2 Suhrs :-). Need to decide on a Tele to go with what I have already. Tough decision!

I got the exact same Blue JM Pro. And let me tell you, its amazing to play. Sounds amazing, feels amazing and always sounds good in a live mix.

Thanks for the comparison. I'm getting an S90 JM at some point, just not sure exactly when. I have the JM Pro hard tail with SSV's. Love that guitar. I have a classic t with roasted, with regular t pickups and it's fantastic too. I did get an Aura and it has the Thornbuckers and they sound wonderful. Totally different body, but nevertheless a PAF all the way. Gotta get that S90 though!

So how are the Suhrs compared to each other as far as consistency with the neck/frets go? Since they Plek do they all have pretty much the same "feel" or are some just better than others like most other brands? I'm about to mail order a JM Pro S90 but always concerned about not putting my hands on it first. Any feedback would help me decide.

I own 2 Suhrs - the JM with s90s and the Classic S, which I had custom built. I touched neither before buying. They both have the same neck profile. Only speaking about mine, they are extremely consistent in feel and playability. I've owned custom shop strats in the past and Suhr is a step above IMO. Not a big guitar cork-sniffer, but I would find it hard to find a better manufacturer. These things are everything everyone says - perfect out of the box and oozing with killer tone. Also, I'd not go back to nickel after playing the stainless steel frets on the Suhrs. Can't go wrong brother. I also own a custom PRS DGT and the Suhr's are even more fun to play.

I’d take any one of those three tones on any given day. If I had to rank them: S90, Thornbucker, SSV.
