Rockingman... you could add "elegant" [interviews] because they had style and practiced respect. To Gatto: I see your point and in my view I wouldn't describe him with those adjectives (however true they might be) but instead, I think that Cavett shows his intentions to conceal (and shield) his insecurities with all the comments and projections (on his interviewees)... but - this is where we differ - I do believe that we all tend to do that, some people do it more than others at times...
@ROCKINGMAN4 жыл бұрын
@Gatto Di Ossa I'm glad you're paying attention to the comments I made. I meant 'interviewees' The comments were made about the guests. But, as Cavatt goes, despite negative opinions, pretentions, pedantic etc., I don't mind him and can tolerate him. The most annoying interviewers, for me, are ones that do most of the talking, keep interupting their guests. No, I like Cavatt. I've never liked that word pedantic...just makes me cringe when I hear it. Reminds me of someone I wasn't that keen on who always used it.

He said they can be physically beautiful but "nothing is there". That's exactly the problem with most exceptionally attractive people. You look for the person within the flesh and see egocentrism, materialism, superficiality, pettiness, arrogance, lack of education, etc. It's almost like a universal balance is being made: The more exceptionally attractive a person is the more these bad qualities will offset that advantage. Exceptions aside.
