Apparently my wife had watched it when she was little (she’s white so cultural difference as i only watched spanish movies or whatever came on late at night like Teen Beach), and the same thing happened to her. Tbh I watched this as an adult for the first time and I hated Tanner LOL o_0 I mean, when he was shocked that a girl did better than him surfing that's what made me hate him. I remember it being pretty loved at the time. That was around the time people weren't watching TV as much but talk went around and it got people to watch it and like it. Second movie killed the momentum tho cause it sucks and then Descendants came out so people were more into that.

I've only seen this movie twice but I listen to some of the songs all the time, love it. This movie is TOTAL corn but good corn lol. I've yet to see the Sequel though. Tanner cracks me up because there's nothing going on between those ears lol. And yes you'd kill it in a musical! 🎶✨ Also yes, Tanner is gay irl. I remember this movie came out after I got my first period at 11, and I watched the premiere with the worst cramps!
