I went into college thinking I had to have a 10 year plan. For 2.5 years my major was veterinary science. Last year I decided to change my major to Criminal Justice and I’ve been happier ever since. Kids leaving high school or anyone going into college shouldn’t be or feel pressured to have a whole 10 year plan.

@@SophiaPhannn don’t get me wrong, I love animals. I have four dogs and wanted to be a veterinarian ever since I was little. But between a job where I was over 600 dogs and cats every weekend plus the two hour commute (1 hour drive then 1 hour back home) for the school that had the best program in my state… maybe down the line but I’m having more fun with Criminal Justice and I was able to take forensics for my science classes.

The reason the musical sequences aren’t questioned in this movie is because Leila and Tanner carried the magic of the movie to real life in a way. The real life people sort of becoming mind controlled into the musical numbers because Tanner and Leila haven’t conformed to reality yet.

You missed in the cafeteria scene that everyone was freaked out that they were singing. They were actively running away from Layla and Tanner, because they were somehow controlling them into singing. That's why Mack and Brady said the lines "Just give in don't fight the song". They didn't break the pattern of freaking normal people out with songs.

Yeah. In a video where Garret Clayton re-watches "Teen Beach Movie" with Christy Carlsen Romano, he tells her that the producers tried to make him look as much like a Ken doll as possible. And they succeeded. But that would have been funny if Garret Clayton was one of the Kens in "Barbie."

I never really liked the ending, where Lela changes "Wet Side Story" to a completely different movie, making what happened the both movies largely inconsequential. While it's nice that Mack and Brady are still meant to be together, it still seems flat.

26:06 The most unrealistic thing in this movie is that the drum line kids left the dance, went into the music department, grabbed ALL THEIR GEAR, left the music department, got back to the dance, and did drum line for this one musical number. It's already unrealistic for any high school band kid to do that, but *especially* percussion. Second most unrealistic thing was that Lela and Tanner weren't gay.

What I hated most about this movie is that the actors who play the Wet Side Story characters are never brought up, so when they make a new movie and everyone knows about it. What happened to the actors? Did she win an award for the progressive character? Get more films? It changes everything about all of their lives! It makes no sense what so ever.

Honestly, I liked how this movie is a juxtaposition to the first, how they bring "musical logic" into reality like how Brady and Mac sort of brought reality into the musical. I also liked the sort of time travel logic in it, how since the movie changed Mac and Brady would have technically not met. Also the songs in this one were fun , especially the poppy Fallin' For Ya :)

5:53 They're in a science lab and Mack DOES NOT HAVE HER HAIR TIED BACK! Rule Number One for Girls (or Boys) in a lab is: Long Hair Must Be Tied Back! And Mack's supposed to be this super-smart girl in school but she somehow forgot about one of the most important things to do in a science lab (aside from wearing safety goggles, which she was wearing). (The same thing kills me when I'm watching Hallmark movies and the main girl is supposed to be an expert at baking or the guy and the girl are making Christmas cookies, and the girl doesn't have her hair tied back in a ponytail, which is one of the Number One rules when you're baking).

You literally said my biggest complaint about this movie that I haven't' seen anyone else say. The appeal of the first movie was the satire of it all and the fact that it felt very different to other DCOMS which almost always happen in a school setting. They stripped what made the first movie so much fun and literally made the setting a stereotypical DCOM setting with stereotypical side characters that had 0 influence on the plot. The side characters in the first weren't that deep but they were meant to be stereotypes. This movie tried way too hard to be serious while also trying to mimic the magic of the first film, I would have much rather a time-skip that happened to the next summer or if they really wanted a "school" vibe then have it happen over spring-break.

One of my favorite teen movies was a made for TV 80s prom movie from 1989 called Dance Til Dawn. It had a bunch of huge stars from the time like the dad from Family Ties, Alyssa Milano, Christina Applegate, Kelsey Grammer, etc. It's very cheesey but I love it!

Tbh, I like how Enchanted and Teen Beach Movie are self aware and make fun of the old classics -say what you want, I still think a lot of the old classic princess movies are overrated-. Tbh, I like how in the sequel it shows that Mac isn't afraid to dance and sing with Brady, it's so sweet. I love how Brady is still himself. I'm not that person to say that sequels are never better than the first movie, because it's not true for a lot of animated movies, but I think this is an example of the first movie being so iconic and the sequel being unnecessary. I'm not much of a Disney fan in general, so I'm not going to say this movie's total crap compared to some other Disney movies I seen (I think a lot of the old ones are problematic in today's society). I love how the characters interact with each other still, and that they kinda keep the characters the same. I don't really like that they always try to put the kids in school all the time, can't they just make it in the summer? I think they wanted to show their friends getting along, that's why. Tbh, I also love the representation of Brady being so obsessed with a movie that is older than most people his age know. If there's any Disney character I relate to, IT'S HIM!

This movie reminded me of something and I couldn't place it until today. It feels like a filler episode of H2O, you know, the mermaid show? Like it has no real substance to anything. I was right there with you that the queer pairings had more chemistry than the canon hetero ones. Oh well.
