Amore is always more expensive but the condition of their Lv Murakami pieces are fantastic. You can’t compare the luxury promise one with yours. The condition difference is night and day imo. I’m not a fan of patinated vachetta.

Because I bought my first LV in 1990. I also have the orignal Murakami Alma bag. And I've compared the hardware with my last LV purchase which was in 2021. Have you noticed that the metal nowadays is some kind of weird alloy that is lighter in weight, but also cheap feeling? That's why I stopped buying LV. So enjoy your bag Sophie, you got a good deal. +first edition will be more valuable after the launch. On a lot of the white bags there's bleeding from the lining, but I'm shure lv will have changed that till this time around. And they have taken away the studs that you have on yours. I don't understand why you didn't talk to Sabrina since you were going to see here in Japan anyway. But LP buy in bulks and then pass on the price to their customers. But don't worry about the price , you bought it bc you liked it, so use it and enjoy it. You just made a mistake not checking how much the Tax and Vat would be, so next time you know 😉 😊

I have two pre-loved*jklux* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.

I remember drooling over the 1st murakami collection but I just started college and was poor af so I had magazine pages cutouts in my folders. When I got my first major pay bump in 2014, I manage to add a few pieces to my collection before it was discontinued. My SA contacted me for pre order. Everything was available to pay in advance. Now that I’m 50, that collection doesn’t talk to me at all. It looks very childish, I loved it very much back in the days, but now, not at all. I haven’t seen someone wearing these bags for years and years. To be honest with you, LV and Chanel (who's probably even a worse offender) have directed their marketing to pre-teen trust fund children.. it's all loud and obnoxious which is fine when your 12 and a Hilton but for the people who actually have disposable income (usually 40+) it's a complete turn off. I’m 23, I’ve been a huge LV fan since I was about 11 so now being able to have a piece from this collection is so special to me. I feel lucky to have built a good relationship with a UK SA and I showed interest in wanting a piece and she straight away sent me the look book. I placed the order straight away for the white pochette. I am in no way a big spender, but because I’ve shown such brand loyalty I was able to get in there first. I’ve been told I was one of 50 people from that store who was “allowed” to do a preorder, UK stores have had to “cut off” their clients from doing anymore preorders because of the high demand. I think this is going to be BIG! X

The other bag that was cheaper had a darker vachetta and wear on it. so naturally it would be cheaper because of the vachetta browning more than the one you got.

Colour transfer is a WELL KNOWN defect. Everybody was talking about it back in the day when the original collection was released. Denim was the worst at transferring it colour over to the bag.

Yes, the cherry blossom cylindrical bag atop the standard LV monogram is the papillion. I recently bought the Papillon trunk and think it is beautiful. It's the only LV piece that made me want their monogram canvas. Highly recommend if you can find one! Also if it makes you feel better your bag at least looks like it is in really good condition!

The thing is buying a preloved bag is you never know if you can come across another one of the same design, colour or condition. I think if you have thought it through and took the leap of faith because you genuinely love and want to own the bag, then that’s all that matters. You loved it at the price point you bought it, and that’s good enough. It’s good luck for whoever managed to buy the same bag at a cheaper price but that shouldn’t cause you to love your bag any less. It’s lovely really, enjoy it! 😉

For the stains, try a nano sponge (in Europe usually sold in a drugstore). It works miracles on stains and almost any discolouration on different textures. Just be careful to try it somewhere “safe” on the bag if it rubs the white color of the canvas as well. But it truly is a musthave in the house 😊

Hi, Sophie: For the white Louis Vuitton Multicolor bag, I think you should try to spot clean the areas with the color transfer. You can use cotton swabs ("Q-tips") & a mild clear dish detergent (like "Dawn" in the U.S.A.). Happy Holidays to you, David & 🐇!

You could try to clean the bag with a hair spray. It helps with ink for sure. Maybe it needs some time to remain on the spot. You can try on a little space to be sure it won't hurt the bag (don't think it would) I tried this method on a shirt

I love Murakami as an artist and I agree with you, that the pieces tend to be too loud, at least for me, to style in a practical everyday manner. I'll likely look to maybe getting a SLG bc the loudness of the design won't matter to me as much, as it'll be in another purse. I tend to like this LV x Murkami collection more as SLG, versus ostentatiously covering an entire LV bag, but I know that is just my preference. Others probably might love it. Sophie there is a company called Lovin my Bags. USA based. They have a product called Bye Bye Dye. It will get your dye transfer off the back of your bag. I have used it myself and it works a treat. Just a thought for you. 👍

I’m pretty sure you can clean off the dye transfer with little cotton tip and simple cleaning solution. I find cleaning wipes work well also. I’ve gotten pen off clothing before using this.

I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real brooch cost $800 and was made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass. The other one is a $40 one *esluxy* Backpack Replica - also works for Compare - I can't find any difference and still use it for the gym

I had the Alma in white and sold it on for the exact same reason. All the hardware made it far heavier than its monogram counterpart. Once you put your belongings in, it was like, “I can’t lug this thing around; I have ARTHRITIS!!!” It never dawned upon me that it would be an issue when I bought it and I was absolutely thrilled to get it. And then I was thrilled to be rid of it.

Try to use a baby towel (oily) and i think this will remove the color transfer. If nit, try oil and a special eraser sponge (carefully).

I have a Sakura bag from the original collection, pink with red flowers. Rarely used and always kept in its bag. The pink background fades drastically. Was all patchy and unusable. Has completely faded to white now so sort of looks decent. Very disappointing. Something to consider. Wouldn’t assume the quality has gotten any better.

I’d consider having it professionally cleaned and keep it in its dust bag when it’s not in use. Or sell it after. Also hardware can be polished.

Foreigner tourist usually enjoy tax free on purchases in Japan. A lot of stores give foreigner tax free when they purchase 5,000 yen and above. Some stores gives tax free upon paying, you just need to present your passport. If the shop doesn't give automatic tax free, you can claim in the airport before you leave. I don't think you can return it since it's pre owned item. They will ask you to check it carefully when you're purchasing it coz they're is no return policy on pre owned luxury merch.

I was blown away by how cheap it all looks compared to the original collab ☹️ My friend’s sister is an SA so I got a look before the “leaks” and I wasn’t impressed. I’m still looking to buy something from the future cherry collection, but these don’t look like $2000/3000 bags to me.

i have the speedy 30 in white & yeah the red suede from the front pocket has seeped through & now the pocket looks dull compared to the rest of the bag

Hi Sophie, Thanks for sharing this topic. Looking from your video, the bag you purchased at a higher price seems to be in pristine and much better condition against the cheaper priced one at LP. I prefer to buy @ higher price for better condition. Enjoy using it ❤
