This scene brought back SO many memories! My mom had an older sister that would literally strip the table at a restaurant if she had a chance. I refused to even eat with her at a restaurant because she would actually bring a huge purse full of plastic ziplock bags of all sizes. Every roll, sugar packet, last scrap of food, every centerpiece would go into that bag. The worst part was that she was a widow that was loaded. Dad used to always say that the best day of her husband's life was the day he died of a heart attack so he didn't have to put up with her anymore

Seniors have a thing for hoarding items like that. Once I worked in a restaurant where tour busses packed with senior citizens would arrive to eat. When the manager saw them coming he would have all of the condiments removed from the tables and made available only upon individual request.

I have seen old ladies take all that stuff (rolls, sugar packets, crackers, etc.) many times at restaurants...it's hilarious. I guess they "let" the restaurants keep the silverware, dishes, tablecloths, etc.

Normally the cold-blooded murder of a senior citizen is something most rational people would be repulsed. But not for our hero Paulie. David Chase did a masterful job of easing him into our hearts. Just keep in mind, this is exactly how a family defends the actions of their loved-ones. Remember even Jeffrey Dahmer's mother loved him.
