I LOVE this figure, which is why I was hoping to see you paint it in one of your tutorials :-) I have amassed a large Dwarf army now, not for gaming, just for my own fun, and this figure is waiting to join them. I hope you know that you have removed all barriers and limits to my painting "comfort zones" due to your amazing tutorials, and now I am not only running a painting/converting/sculpting service, but am a much, MUCH better painter than I ever expected myself to be in to the bargain. Not only do I now hear your voice in my head when I'm painting, but I've started talking aloud, mimicking your voice when I'm working (believe me, my Yorkshire accent doesn't do your voice overs any justice LOL :-D) Words fail me when it comes to thanking you for every moment of joyful viewing and learning that I get from all your tutorials. Mind you, I may never forgive you for getting me back into using GW paints after all these years (only joking), as my budget now has stretch marks, and my work space is getting mighty full :-) Please don't stop making these amazing and inspiring videos, as they have breathed life into the hobby for myself and many other "Old Sweats," and brought so many new painters into the hobby, too. All the very best Paul :-)

I have already made +++ comments on some of the tutorials in this series. I feel now it's right to leave a final comment. This series has been an inspiration to get the set finished and has provided much needed guidance to get the set right (In my opinion). I followed it as near as possible with my trusty tablet at my side as I went through the set. I finally finished Sampson on Saturday and felt an enormous sense of achievement having completed 71 Minis all of which I am delighted with. (The bases were a simple idea but very worthwhile effort) Not only have I been able to achieve great results for this game set but I think my overall skill has improved and taught me more about painting my other D&D minis etc. I didn't have all the correct paints so It also made me think about and practice "mixing" so I could achieve a colour that was close to what you were using. Can't thank you enough for the effort you made not only in painting the mini's featured but also for the amount of work in the production of the tutorial. It was very easy, entertaining and clear. Have now played a few games with my daughters and have enjoyed it infinitely more now that the zombies are painted, it adds a great deal to the game play. Thank you again and good luck in the future with your channel (100k Subscribers would be great !!)

@Sorastro7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Michael! I think it's a good idea to start wet blending on larger areas then progress onto smaller ones, although it's not really that much more difficult - it just involves smaller brush strokes :)

First I have to say that your tutorials helped me tremendously. I already painted Clovis, the necro and some zombies following your example. Im quite happy with the results :) Secondly I wanted to ask if you plan on doing any more on zombicide black plague with Green Horde having arrived for most backers and maybe even show some wolves from Wulfsburg? Im glad you are helping others and it would be sad if you wouldnt continue making videos for this awesome game. Greetings from Germany!
@Sorastro6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Chris! I'm glad you're enjoying the hobby! Regarding future content; my plate is a little full at the moment but I'd love to cover some of the ZMB expansions and maybe some Green Horde later this year :)
@Cyviel6 жыл бұрын
Obviously making these videos takes a long time and while it's not necessarily the most horrible thing to do having other things that are more important on your plate is totally reasonable. I was just thinking that it might help to boost your channel a bit given that green horde is already out to most backers and the demand for videos is probably quite high :) I'm gonna try to go for my own style with those then! Going for the Necrotic Flesh army painter primer for base, i might post an update here with how it turns out! Btw. here are some pictures of my wife and me following your tutorials: imgur.com/gallery/2AYjk I guess it would be too much to ask for some advice but that way you can see at least some results of your content helping others start out painting properly :) Cheers!

Hi. Great job. I learn so much with you. I wonder what is your dillution ratio which is a great problem to me

Always excited to see a new video! I am curious about when you choose to use Zenithal highlighting or just prime in black. Is there certain characteristics of the model that help you decide? I hope Green Horde gets as much of your attention as much as BP has!
@Sorastro7 жыл бұрын
+Chris DeMint Hi Chris! I pretty much zenithal highlight most of my minis these days, except perhaps all-black figures like Vader. I’m actually not sure if I’ll be covering much Green Horde; it depends how my schedule pans out next year :)

hey, do you preorderd the green horde from kickstarter? will we see painting guides for this figures too? greetings from germany, great work!
@Torien07 жыл бұрын
Hi Sorastro, two questions: First, when you revisit an area with a colour you've already used, how often do you have to remake the already used colour, or dow your paint last long enough for you to go back to it? Second, how much would you recommend thinning the paint when painting eyes?
@Sorastro7 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex! I usually keep the paints moist enough to last a single session. I sometimes cover the palette with cling film to preserve the paints in-between sessions too. Any paints that I’ve thinned with Vallejo’s Glaze Medium also stay wet for ages because of the retarder in it. Regarding the eyes.. the consistency wants to be thick enough to get the desired opacity with a single dab, but not so thick that the paint feels raised after applying. Also, if it’s too thick it may begin drying before you’re able to get the brush to the mini :)
@guillaumebellanger97166 жыл бұрын

I've noticed you primarily use citadel paints vs vallejo, is there any particular reason for that? Great video btw!
@Sorastro7 жыл бұрын
Than you Grant! I actually have lots of Vallejo paints and I honestly don’t have a strong preference for one range over the other. However I am more familiar with the Citadel range for historic reasons, plus I try not to switch brands too much within a series as I know some viewers invest in the range I’m mostly using. :)

I hate you, Sorastro... Because of the extremely high quality of your videos, I can't watch any other painting channel without thinking that I can't see correctly what they're painting, that they don't edit the videos well, and that the lack of a nice background music makes watching their stuff really boring. Oh well, you'll have to make up for it by creating more videos! :p
