Recently been investigating more into my heritage, went to the Wendish Heritage Museum in Serbin, Texas and discovered that what my family always called Wends were originally called/also called Sorbs, and were a sort of germanic/slavic mix! As a musician I would love to learn some Sorbian music too, it sounds amazing! I hear... Hm, higher bowed strings so probably violin (which I play), but also plucked strings that are higher pitched than guitar... lute maybe?

Wends, Wents is a German term for Slavs analogous to the Slavic term Nemcy which refers to the German ethnos and not a specific tribe. The flag is the de-facto official flag for Wends in Brandenburg. Historically they weren't Sorbs but belonged to the Lusatian tribe, however fused with Upper Lusatian speaking Wends (Sorbi, Milčani) to create a Sorbian nationality.

There is no census about the number of Sorbs or the number of speakers, but we still do speak it, and it is actually spoken with a German accent today, even by fluent mother tongue speakers. Upper Sorbian even more so - while in Lower Sorbian, the R is still rolled, in Upper Sorbian it is a German R. But don't mistake that for a lack of fluency. ;)

Sądząc po brandenburskim (czy,jak powiedziałby to Serbołużyczanin, bramborskim) orle,może to być język dolnołużycki (dolnoserbščina). Aczkolwiek moim zdaniem nie powinno się wstawiać na fladze naszych zaodrzańskich braci bramborskiego orła czy saskiej korony rucianej,gdyż nie są to ich symbole,lecz tych,którzy od wielu wieków okupują ich ziemię i wynaradawiają łużyckie dzieci. Bardziej na miejscu byłby herb Górnych lub Dolnych Łużyc(w zależności od tego,z jakiego regionu jest ta pieśń) albo tzw. Domowina-znak chętnie używany przez organizacje serbołużyckie.

Не глупирај се. Читај мало њихову поезију. Они нас гледају као наставак себе јер је то наш народ не браћа као типа Пољаци, Руси и остали већ буквално наша крв. Треће сети се Павла Јуришића Штурма, Лужички Србин који је долетео у Србију са рођеним братом чим су почели наши ратови за ослобођење против Турака.
