I totally agree. When i first watched the show i started at about season 7 and Ryan and Colin were just the best. But after you see most of the shows you really start to apreciate the different styles of the other performers. So it never gets old.

This is why the UK original rocks ... actual rotation of guests, instead of Wayne, Colin and Ryan together week after week.

Well said! I completely agree. Can't blame Colin & Ryan for not wanting to appear in every episode. Trust the US producers to milk them for all they're worth. Such a pity the US version didn't experiment with different combinations in all 4 seats.

@SormaNo3 I agree that while I love them, they didn't need to be on every show. And Ryan and Colin would agree. I read an interview with Colin where he said he and Ryan begged the producers to split them up every once in a while but they were too popular a duo. Ryan and Colin thought it would be more exciting if they couldn't anticipate their partner all the time.

Is it a matter of being "better"? It's a matter of keeping the show fresh. The reason it died is because people got bored of it. The likes of Greg Proops, Mike McShane, Tony Slattery, Steve Frost, Josie Lawrence, Brad Sherwood, etc ... aren't necessarily better or worse than Ryan and Colin, but they're different. They have different kinds of humour and it's good to mix it up. The US show forgot that.

@CountryMusicFanForev Oh I can certainly understand why they chose to do it that way. (although I was never aware of any negativity between Colin and Dan Paterson) Im just saying that I always felt like it was missing the variety of the British version. It wasnt as chaotic as the British version, and I think the chaos is part of the charm of good improv. I dont want to come down hard on it. It was still good. They could have fixed this by varying the games more, and adding another chair or two.

@orlandowill Well orlando, Tony became addicted to cocaine back in the 1990's, and Michael McShane dropped out of the show to help Tony deal with his addiction. I do agree tho. The days with Paul Merton, Sandy Toksvig and Griff Rhys Jones are long gone. Besides, was Josie Lawrence still on the show at this point?

Jim Carrey was busy being (at the time) the highest paid actor in Hollywood, banking 20 million dollars per crappy film. Also, while I agree that the US version was one long downward spiral for the show, I wonder why you felt it necessary to say so on every other episode of the UK series?
@elanorglf2 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you about both comments. After seeing Colin, Ryan, Brad and Greg in the UK version. I think it was better than the US version too. There a lot more verity in the UK version as well. However, I loved Drews laugh and so that sort of makes up for the downside of the US. 👍🏻
@sajinokami10 жыл бұрын
No need to to put the show on a premium station, even putting WLiiA US on Comedy Central would have made the censorship more lax. There is not as much money in basic cable though. Both versions need to be on Netflix stat.

The Big guy on the right in 'film dub' was Bud Jamison. He was well known in the early 3 Stooges shorts. Wonder how they would try a film dub on the3 Stooges, just to see how it would do.

@LMW87MMA I agree that they were strong staples of the show. But I think they should have had more than 4 contestants. If they had one more seat, that would allow them a much more diverse mix of different performers from episode to episode. Thats one thing I got tired of in the American version. It got kind of repetative. What it did, it did well. But I wanted to see the american version experiment more.
