Man I haven't rode anything in awhile that would make me do that , And Man Do I Miss me some Get Up and Go!!!!! The old RoadStar just doesn't quite pull that kind of reaction out of me !!! 😁 I would say that FTR is right about on par with my brothers KTM Duke 990 , and I had a blast when I rode his , so I'm pretty sure I'd have a ball on a FTR 👍 Can't wait to see more content of you ripping on that Beautiful bike 👍 My best to you , Jackie and the kiddos . Word. I know there were some pros and cons to the wheel sizes on the first edition/changes they made on the newer models. I think for the average joe, the current set up makes sense for keeping things simple. But I agree the flat track wheels look more authentic.
@yassassin6425
@yassassin6425 2 жыл бұрын
Completely agree. The fuelling is diabolical though and the exhaust hideous on the 19. It needs a full exhaust system (if you cat delete), a bench tune and a series of after market mods to get the best out of it and make it resemble the flat track racer that it purports to be, but you're right, the 18/19 wheels really are in sympathy with the FT pedigree. I've chucked serious coin at mine and it isn't far off the project bike that they tantalisingly rolled out in 2018.

Depends what you want it for. The Ducati is a much smaller bike physically with significantly less torque than the Indian, but more versatile. A much needed larger fuel tank or additional linked tank would be a great start... fixed fairing with MX style high-mount fender and some nice tubular crash guards on either side with auxiliary lighting mounted to it. Large GPS nav display (NOT ANY FORM OF RIDE COMMAND!!!). I'd pay $15-18k for something like that, depending on accessories offered at launch.

They would have to fundamentally change the bike from stem to stern. It is not an adv platform by any measure
@UnrulyRider
@UnrulyRider 2 жыл бұрын
@@MagicToaster_1fan The powerplant and forks would work no problem, just needs different gearing and rebuilt for proper valving and compression. I new chassis/frame would be obvious, to make way for the larger fuel tank or additional linked tank. But many of the parts used on the FTR could be reused in an adventure platform. Nobody said it would happen on the same chassis/frame.

They've had street fighter bikes for a long time that make way more power than and FTR. And handle way better as well. FTRs do alot of thing well but it's not gonna outhandle a superduke or by any means out power an mt10. A ducati 1200r will destroy one in corners. Cool bikes tho. Fun to ride. Practical power on the street. And honestly a stage 4 CVO with a bullt 128 will walk an ftr in a straight line. But one is 230lbs more has a fairing stereo rear seat and bags. Comparing apples to oranges. Go ride a built m8 bike with a decent 128 set up. 150hp/150tq at the wheel is not joke.
