As a Derby fan. I was annoyed when we replaced Rosenior considering he stuck with us through thick and thin, was happy to see him get the Hull job and even happier that he was doing a good job there, then I heard of his sacking I was shocked and saddened, poor guy cannot get a break. He seems to be getting sacked for no real reason.

I will have to agree with you, but at the end of the day. We are seeing Derby once again in the Championship. While he indeed stuck with us through thick and thin and the worst times I will have to say. We are at the Championship and hoping for him to get another good position in the Championship. Edit: I have been a Derby fan for a far shorter amount of time than most. Started following them when Mendez Laing was started to get in the eyes of my national federation to represent us in international play. But have grown to love the club and the atmosphere that has become Derby once again. While never a big fan of the English football pyramid teams, I for once have found a team to root for aside from following said player.

As a Hull City fan I was gutted when I saw the news. As a team we were making huge progress under Rosenior, and at a much faster pace than I think anyone would have thought. I can understand people complaining about the slow/patient, possession based tactics, but I also think a lot of fans forget how bad our defense is and that this style of play takes a lot of pressure off them. Also, fans point to the home form being poor, and I agree we did underperform at home, but we also massively overperformed away from home. I think it was 100% the wrong decision at the wrong time, but as a Hull fan I hope it works out alright and I am proven wrong. The owner has earned a lot of good will with the fans, so i'm reluctantly willing to let it play out.

Alfie, You know when something is very amiss when the supporters of your rivals all go 👀 In unison about such a sacking. It actually smacks of a knee jerk emotional reaction to the failure of reaching the play-offs, rather than the failure of some plan or design. My club - Panathinaikos - has suffered a similar fate because of Acun's policies despite not being owned by him! Acun's media empire extends beyond Turkey and he produces shows in one of Greece's biggest TV channels. The owner of this channel owns Panathinaikos, too (and he is universally hated by the fans but that's another story) and he is Acun's close business partner and friend. In 26 December, while Panathinaikos was 3 points behind 1st place, he sacked coach Ivan Jovanovic, who despite his shortcomings was loved by the majority of fans. He was replaced by 70 year old Fatih Terim at the advice of Acun and he was soon followed by transfers mostly connected to Turkey. What followed has been a crazy mess, with Terim employing crazy tactics (using three center-forwards simultaneously with almost no midfielders, a right-back being employed at every position of midfield excluding his actual one, playing with the best defensive midfielder as a center-back despite having like 5 CBs at the squad, among others), erratically changing systems for no apparent reason. As a result, the team has been at times brilliant at times, but completely awful, too. Now, first place is lost, we are in a worse place in comparison to where we were in December and the fans are furious. The team had a good project before, but now it's all messed up and Acun has played his part despite not being actually involved in my club!

As a Fenerbahçe fan, unfortunately Acun's managing of the club sounds a lot like Ali Koç. Since his election in 2018, every season started with hiring a new manager and rebuilding the whole squad, with basically no success. Jorge Jesus was the first manager who stayed at the club for a full season last year. Most familiar sacking of a manager is Erol Bulut in 20/21 season, the team was still in the title race, but some "fans" wanted the manager gone because "the team wasn't playing like champions" and we were "only winning because of individual talent and set pieces". Reportedly, Ali Koç tried to force him to change his tactics, before sacking him with 10 weeks left in the league after a draw against Beşiktaş. One of the individual talents that were winning the matches for us was Pelkas btw, I wonder how Hull City fans rate him.

Alfie, An excellent video about your beloved club. Hopefully we see Hull back in the Prem. You should do a follow up video on the FAI and add in Irish football. The FAI and the national team is even worse than you could imagine. Cant get a manager, CEO scandal and resignation, drop in rankings, divided fanbase on style of play and still no manager. You would enjoy but be horried. We have England in Nations league. The League of Ireland is flourishing in terms of attendances and recently went professional. All this is without any FAI/government support.

Maybe the solution is to get all the fans together for a big rally, say once a year. Pick a theme that ephasizes the importance of team spirit and dedication, I would suggest "Triumph of the Will" for the first one. Should certainly improve the mood considerably.

Rosenior's management style is very dutch in terms of slow build up. He learned that working under Philip Cocu at Derby
@paulie-g
@paulie-g 8 ай бұрын
It's not as much Dutch, as it is what you do if you want to play possession football and have a sh-t defence that's leaking goals. So you keep the ball, looking for an opening and playing percentages while taking as few risks as possible in positional terms in case you lose the ball and have to defend a transition. Hull doesn't currently have a back line you can leave one v one with lots of space in front of it.

@@paulie-g thats exactly what dutch football is, minus the poor defence. It works in the netherlands because most of the teams dont press. Very slow and methodical which doesnt work all that well in the championship

@@jackbrownio3 I've not seen an Eredivisie game like that, but I don't watch it often and when I do, it's the top clubs usually. Given that Hull, playing this way, go to 7th indicates it works reasonably well, unless you think they have the squad to have finished higher.

As a Hamburg Fan myself I think I might start following Hull City when they sign Tim Walter. True his style of football might be risky and at times nearly su1cidal but it’s entertaining as hell. He would rather win 4:3 then 1:0. As Hamburg suffered many disappointments over the last years I found myself often wandering if the players even care. With Walter every player gave 120% for the club and for the first time in what felt like forever we had a team on the pitch. He is a good manger and in my opinion we would be back in the Bundesliga if Vuskovic wasn’t accused of doping and Regensburg could have hold on to the lead against Heidenheim in last years seasons finale. Tim Walter to Hull City would be great!

Will Acun's antics change? I don't think so. Since it is related to Erdogan, it basically is similar to how Putin used to finance Chelsea and Vitesse before using them to launch his war on Ukraine, or how Kazakhstan joined UEFA with their corrupt oil money despite gross human rights violation (which has been criticised by activists) and how Saudi and Qatar got away with it. Another typical case of autocratship. Feel hard for Hull however when Erdogan has some say on the club.

You know Putin and Abramovich are not the same person and Abramovich, having robbed the Russian people, actually fled Russia and bought Chelsea as an insurance policy against prosecution by.. Putin's government. Putin doesn't need to use a money-losing British club to finance anything when Russia is a bigger economy than Britain. The war in Ukraine (on the Russian side) is actually financed by Britain and all the other countries that have implemented 'sanctions' on Russian exports, because they still buy them but now are doing so at inflated prices. Don't ask me why that was a good idea and whose competence you have to thank for both that fiasco and your utility bills.

He is willing to lose every money on the world to see Fenerbahçe successful. So, try to understand transfers like Sayyadmanesh or Tufan and transfers to come within this framework.

No it isn't? Unless you're taking about the national leagues as I have no idea how it works down there, most teams in the EFL and in the Prem do the usual buying and selling but unless you're in deep e.g. Morecombe currently or Derby a season or so back, a full rebuild is almost never wanted nor required and whilst it does happen, it's certainly not common.
