Now that’s a functional design that addresses all those design considerations like: 1) where to put container 2) where to leave container now that you’ve taken out a “section” 3) how to close container now that you’re holding a section (and drill and washers and pencil....) and 4) how to annoy at every opportunity some doofus complaining about noise they are choosing to receive on their very own device rather than reading manual which probably indicates where volume switches are....!!! Ha, wet myself laughing every time!! Seriously good editing and a seriously good mistake that we’ve all sort of made. Thanks very much for all that work and for seriously thinking thru the limitations of working with these great containers...

I love the content, and the humor, and also how you screw up once in a while to make us feel better. I'm sure this is difficult for you to do. I love the little tricks I see and don't feel bad at all about stealing them and making them part of my tool bag. Thank you!

Professor Farnsworth would be proud of your wire drawer. I, however, can just say: "Whoa!"
@jaywood8296 Жыл бұрын
A very well done and well filmed version of a not-great concept. To even find out if you have the right box requires taking it out, finding a place to put it, or in this case, pulling out the tray, and putting the case down and opening the lid, praying that it never gets knocked over. Then you still need overflow storage for larger quantities of common items. If they were drawers, it would be one step- open drawer, select item.
@WesleyTreat Жыл бұрын
I label them. That's how I know which one to grab. And drawers aren't really conducive to transporting to different jobs. If this solution doesn't work for you, that doesn't mean it's universally bad. Not everything is designed specifically for you.
@jaywood8296 Жыл бұрын
@@WesleyTreat Not universally bad, just not optimal, IMO. It would be interesting to see it in use after four years- still happy with the set up? Again- great job on the video.
@WesleyTreat Жыл бұрын
@@jaywood8296 Yes, thank you, I'm very happy with it. I think what you mean to say is it's not optimal for the way you work. No solution is optimal for everyone, but may be perfect for many others. Thanks! 👍

Have a similar rack, mine is not as tall nor as nice. I installed it on the wall with French cleats, you will be amazed at how much you can get in organizers. Just a small tip when using the label maker to label ( I did mine on the yellow part of the handle), 2000 grit sandpaper and a wipe with isopropyl alcohol will make sure your labels are not "self-removing."

Hands down the most thought-out and versatile implementation of a DIY Sorta Sortimo/Econo Sortimo rack I've seen. Just watched Adam Savage's video, and like many others knew I wanted to try out the organizers for storing small parts. I'm going to start off with only 1 or 2 organizers and see how I like them. If they work well for me and I need to upgrade to a rack, I'll be basing mine off of yours. The ability to mix and match the shallow and deep organizers is great, and the temporary table and drawers for "Type-A Accesories" really take this to the next level for me. Loved the Futurama reference. Keep up the great work!

A simple idea that may speed things up is to drill a hole a little smaller than your smallest yellow compartment in the full-length pullout shelf. Then you can dump the contents of a bin onto the surface, sort out the parts you want. When you are done, hold the bin under the hole and sweep all the remaining parts through the hole and into the bin. It would be quicker than picking up all the parts and putting them into a bin.
@WesleyTreat5 жыл бұрын
