So here's how you solve the "let's compare lasagnas" problem, SIMPLY for the sake of comparing the taste of the lasagnas: You collect all the ingredients as if you're going to make one regular batch, BUT THEN YOU DIVIDE IT IN HALF! Then, you have a simple choice to make: (1) Prepare the two smaller batches ahead of time, then just cook one half on Day 1 (which will be the Leftover version) and store the other prepared half until you're ready to cook it on Day 2 (which will be the Fresh version). (2) You prepare and cook one half on Day 1 (which will be the Leftover version), and then only on Day 2 do you prepare and cook the other half (which will be the Fresh version). You're welcome.

Hey there, I can hole Hartley say that coming from a family of cooks and bakers. I have to agree with you Erik on this lasagna topic. You guys really should do a taste test tho you can tell the difference. But you are right it’s a chore. lol But for best results just make two the exact same but open/cut into one after baking them, keep the other wrapped up and refrigerate for 24hrs then re heat it IN THE OVEN. that’s the trick! My family usually makes it day before. Hope this helps educate some people.
