Comic nerd here: For the record, yes, Bane has always known Batman’s identity. He broke his back during a storyline called Knightfall, basically the first Arkham game. Star Saphire is Carol Ferris, Green Lantern’s main love interest. She’s possessed by the Saphire Lantern (basically the green lantern only for love instead of will power). She was played by Blake Lively in the Ryan Reynolds “Green Lantern” movie (which is how they met)

In the comics this movie was based on Plastic Man was actually a big part of the story. And even when Batman's contengincey for him was made to be lethal, it could not kill him. Plas is unironically one of the strongest characters in DC and can go toe to toe with Superman if he so chooses to. Batman's afraid of what would happen if he turned evil because there's no sure fire way to stop Plastic Man.

Batman knew Plas could survive the contingency, he just wasn't sure what kind of effect it would have on his mental state. And there are ways of stopping him which they contingency proves, he could build a prison that's constantly freezing him, have superman lock him in the phantom zone, etc. He's not unbeatable just underestimated, hence Batmans comment of they're lucky he's on their side, it also applies to Superman and Flash but it doesn't need to be said for them

Okay let me give you details on the villains. Star Sapphire - no she not Starfire's sister, she's a green lantern villain/anti-hero. Metallo (the robot dude) - He's a superman villain Bane (luchador guy) - Batman villain and is most famous for breaking Batmans back. Cheetah - Wonder woman villain Ma'alefa'ak (green alien dude) - Martian Manhunter villain Then lastly Vandal Savage whose a Justice League villain basically he was a caveman that was expose to some radiation from a meteorite but he gain immortality and super intelligent and been living for thousands of years trying to either take over the world or reshape it to his image. Think of him as a evil version of the Immortal from Invincible.

Superman vs The Elite. You guys really need to watch that one. It's based on a single issue of a Superman run, and it's entirely fantastic. EDIT: Michael Rosenbaum played Lex Luthor in Smallville, and also voiced The Flash in the Justice League/Unlimited animated series. For me, he's to The Flash what Kevin Conroy is to Batman or Mark Hamill to the Joker.

Great choice for a reaction. One thing I like the most about this film is the amount of conflict that is created because of Batman and his contingencies against nearly every hero on Earth, really shows how untrusting he is towards the people he cares about even to his closest friends like Clark and Diana, even himself and I to an extent you can understand his plans since the DC Universe is full of dangerous and mind controlling threats that could compromise heroes, but still he let his plans get stolen pretty easily which was his fault. Nevertheless I'm glad Superman still trusts Batman and the two still remains great friends together, since Clark very much understands what it means to control his powers and knows they can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Btw the way Green Lanterns power ring works is that he can materialise anything he can imagine with the ring to an unlimited extent, but no he can't restructure his own DNA. If you want to learn more about Green Lantern Id highly recommend Green Lantern: The Animated Series (2011) sadly the show got cancelled after 1 season due to the failure of the live action movie but it truly dives into the the incredible mythos of Green Lantern comics and the great world building that we only get to see in the comics. The storytelling and characters alone are so fleshed out and developed. I would also kindly like to recommend some other great animated films: - Superman vs The Elite - All-Star Superman - Batman and -Superman: Public Enemies - Green Lantern-First Flight - Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths - Justice League: New Frontier

For Batman its not a matter of trust, Superman is actually probably tied with nightwing with how much he trusts him. Instead its about duty, the strongest members have the potential to be world enders if so much as mind controlled. In the comics you'll find there is actually very few differences between superman and batman (passed the image Bruce puts up), and their ideas on contingencies is not one of them, Clark even has had a lead container holding a kryptonite ring just in case

Gods and Monsters is another excellent and highly underrated DC animated movie, though, as you said since these guys are newcomers to DC, I imagine they'd be a little confused/new to Elseworld stories and unsure of whether these depictions of Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman are important or integral. Odds are if you know more about the canon universe and see how much the movie recontextualises things as a different universe you can appreciate the little changes more

JL Doom, or rather Tower of Babel the original story this is based off is another one of those batman stories people completely miss the point and just think how it makes batman look cool. In the original story the whole point is to show how Batman's is flawed, his loneliness, obssesion and paranoia making him act like despicable person. He stalks, manipulates and take advantage of the members trusting him. In the end he was supposed to realize how awful he was and that he needed to learn to trust people

Although technically stand-alone as movies, I’d consider *’Superman/Batman: Apocalypse’* as a sequel to *’Superman/Batman: Public Enemies’* as the comics these were based on had the latter lead into the former. This is the movie that shows how far Batman is willing to go to protect the Earth from any threat, even the Justice League because as the tactician of the team, it’s literally his job to be 2, if not, 3 steps ahead for whatever event may occur. He knew the risk of what would happen if the others knew about this and he was fine with it because their abilities can only go so far before it snaps entirely and unless a backup plan was already made, everyone on the planet will be in jeopardy. 16:20 - Green Lanterns can create anything thier mind imagines using thier ring, and can to an extent manipulate thier own aura (the green glow around thier bodies that shields them from attacks like a superhuman punch, and from suffocating in space). Thier only limit is that creating constructs requires the ring to be charged and their mind to be focused. A Green Lantern cannot manipulate thier own physical bodies unless their specific species lets them do that, so no matter what Hal Jordan makes, he will still be 100% human. Fear is the greatest enemy of Willpower, and how that affects GL varies depending on the writer. In some cases the ring will abandon Green Lanterns who succumb to thier fears, deeming them unworthy, and in others Green Lanterns giving into fear weakens thier constructs considerably and they struggle to create stable ones. If you will it hard enough can alter your own body in the calmics. 1 Of the lanterns do not sleep with his ring on because he's afraid of having a nightmare, his Ring activating. For example, All green lanterns can use their rings to phase through objects and attacks (a power that most authors and like, ALL media outside comics ignores or doesn't remember) also they all gain super strength from the ring. But that'd be about it as far as i remember (they can use their rings to give themselves body enhancing implants though. Kinda like cyberpunk cyborgs) also their rings' life support can keep a green lantern alive even after they have died sometimes

On one hand, it’s very understandable why Batman created those contingency plans. As he himself pointed out, the Justice League are among some of the most powerful and dangerous beings on the planet. If they ever intended to go rogue or indirectly succumbed to a form of mind control, earth would be fucked and no one would stand a chance. But on the other hand, Batman should had been honest and told his teammates the truth in secret. Least it would had been a lot more understandable on their part so that way, they wouldn’t had felt betrayed or manipulated. Unfortunately, despite the fact that Batman is capable of teamwork and working together with other heroes, he is still at his core very distrustful of people and is often very paranoid of the possible what-if scenarios. Hell, he doesn’t even trust himself and created plans to stop himself should anything bad ever happens. That alone shows that in some way, Batman is the most dangerous one of all, despite the fact that he’s human with no special abilities of any kind. I honestly don’t blame him for doing all of this. It’s better to be prepared than to be caught off guard. Green Lantern was the only one who understood why Batman did what he did while everyone else was not seeing the bigger picture.

About green lanterns powers since you asked in the vid, yes the ring can affect his body as well. Like the list of things it can't do just straight up doesn't exist. In the comic this movie is based on, the contingency for GL was to trick him into thinking he was blind, which the ring reacted to his thoughts and... Actually blinded him. Also yeah don't worry about a lack of imagination using the ring, everyone makes fun of hal for basically just making guns and hammers most of the time

I feel the main problem, but even i find it hard to really see it working, is that he really just did all of this without telling anybody. Communication and Trust are not in Batman's motto, so in a way, for all they know, Batman was actually trying to kill them. Because ultimately you can't argue Batman's wrong, but you can't just pull a scheme like that without any level of consent, y'know. It ultimately becomes this uncomfortable position in which the only neutral solution is to NOT have a Justice League if they can't be trusted and have to be covered with contingency plans. Because this movie shows that the idea is right, but the wrong person can show why it's not ideal to do it in the first place. Also, just to point out, Batman probably built the space station, so he should have kicked them out instead. He's no longer part of the league, but that's most likely HIS building LOL

That's what the comic story based on this, "Tower of Babel", stated. The League understood having the plans, but him taking advantage of their trust to make them, not stating he had them, and not securing them were the issues that led to the mess that happened. The argument was more nuanced than here where "Batman is right." And how would he make them?

16:19 Even though he doesn't do it in the movies/tv shows, in the comics, one lantern thought he was blind so the ring blinded him and in another occasion a young lantern wanted to be older and she grew overnight thanks to the ring.

Batman has MANY different contingency plans for the Justice league based on various scenarios. He has a plan for if they are in their right mind but become the enemy, which is what was used, for if they are mind controlled, for if they become emotionally compromised, for if they are replaced with imposters, etc. The Legion of Doom just took all the contingency plans and picked what they thought would work best.

Lanterns can create energy constructs of anything they can imagine. Each type of Lantern has to draw on their color's emotion/aspect to create the constructs. It's called the Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum. Red is Rage, Orange is Averice (Greed), Yellow is Fear, Green is Willpower, Blue is Hope, Indigo is Compassion, Violet is Love, White is Life, Black is Death. Star Sapphire Corps are Violet Lanterns. Love being their source of power is how Hal being her ex makes her so vengeful.

If I remember right he actually doesn't have one he's just such a powerful telepath and so powerful mentally that he can make himself believe that the fire is hurting him when an actuality it wouldn't. Green Lanterns can actually manipulate their own bodies to some degree- particularly to heal wounds and bones much faster than normal- but some Lanterns have gone farther- one called Arisia used her ring to accelerate her aging from age twelve to nineteen. Stuff like that.

35:30 it depends of who’s writing her at the time. She officially has a sword and shield, her lasso, and her bracers that are strong enough to block Superman’s heat vision and create shockwave. It’s just up to the writer on what they want her to use, this film is more of the JLA run so this would be her with just the bracers and lasso. New 52 (dcau/flashpoint) is when they waited it over to sword and shield most of the time. 41:15 kicked out of the club he build and funded 😂😂😂 Final notes this film is actually a sequel to another dc animated film called "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths" Where they are contacted by an alternate universe Lex Luther for help. In his world him, the joker, and other “villians” are the hero’s fighting against The Crime Syndicate basically evil versions of Superman, wonderwoman, and Batman. It give even more context as to why Batman was so adamant in creating these plans.

Green Lantern rings draw their power from Willpower, one of the seven colors of the Emotional Spectrum. Using their strong will, they can literally create anything out of the green light of Willpower as long as they can imagine it. Even the suit they wear is created by the power, and while it generally takes on a base appearence, they can alter it slightly to fit their style.

I don’t know if you guys will see this but I am so happy to finally see a group not get on Hal Jordan for being unclever, so many people compare him to the other green lanterns and thanks he’s not clever or they could do better but you actually have to know how the thing works that you are creating which means he literally knows down to the detail how to actually make a gun or at least know the mechanics of how a gun works good enough to make one plus you have to do it incredibly quickly and be able to keep focus and have willpower or it will just not be that durable or effective.

This is a good one. Great to have all the League, minus Aquaman for some reason, getting to show off their stuff. If you want more recommendations I'd say Superman/Doomsday and Superman vs The Elite, just rewatched that last night, SO GOOD!

I remember watching this movie all the time when I was younger. When my parents asked us what movie we wanted to watch, I always requested this one. For some reason, I vividly remember the scene where Bruce gets hit with the cards, and the scene where Hal is chasing the lady on the flying card. Still love this movie though. (Also, holy crap, I didn't realize this was the movie that Flash has the wrist bomb AND Superman gets hit by the bullet. Young me had good taste ngl)

Star Sapphires are the Violet/Pink Lanterns. All lanterns are powered by an emotion. Whether they have an abundance of it or it is forced onto them. Green - will Blue - Hope (this ring is weaker without a green lantern around, but has the ability to neutralize the downside of other rings like red allowing them to take off their rings n not die) Yellow - Fear Orange - avarice ( parasite color, forces the user to become greedy, only one living member of this core everyone he kills he acquires them are light constructs) Red - Hate (this ring replaces your heart, regular people cant take this ring off without dying) Violet - Love (use to be a group of villains, depending on the continuity. They become heroes and stopped being overwhelming by their rings) Indigo - empathy (parasite color, forces the user to feel empathy and are usually given to those that lack it. They can temporarily use the powers of other lanterns.) White - Life (all the previous colors combined/mastery depending on who writes the story. We will probably never see them in animated form 😒) Black - Death (literally just death, lack of emotions. It is a parasite color. If the living wear one, they dont die but they do become a mindless like a Zombie who wants to spread death) There are other color like the ultra violet lanterns n what not but not worth dipping into that for whats not even gunna be show in animation. I hope they prove me wrong but they have too many reboots.

Batman is more the money than the brain. Cyborg meanwhile got bumped up to Justice League member in reboots, he went back to the Titans because you don't fix what's not broke but sometimes he's made part of the seven ahead of Martian Manhunter or the more obscure Red Tornado, for this it seems that he replaces Aquaman. Doom is partly based off of the Tower of Babel storyline, wherein it's learned that Batman has contingencies for everyone and Ra's al Ghul uses it against them, it did affect the trust a lot. The movie uses Vandal Savage instead, as well as the more common versions of Green Lantern and The Flash. The contingencies may've been ripped off of X-Men's Xavier Protocols 4 years earlier. Star Sapphire is not related to Starfire, she's an ex/love interest of Hal Jordan who gets lantern-esque powers by the Star Sapphires, whose power source is love. Bane has always knew, he deduced it early, breaking Bruce's back came from the comic Knightfall, in which Bane debuted by having him wearing out Bruce with several villain attacks and then jumping him in the batcave. Green Lantern can only create constructs it can't affect his living matter I believe. Fire meanwhile is one of Martian Manhunter's key weaknesses, tied to his trauma of Mars being destroyed. Oh Metallo isn't 'just a robot', he's a cyborg with a Kryptonite heart and a big grudge against Superman. Wonder Woman does sometimes use a shield, it's not a mandatory piece of kit

Hal Jordon considers Batman the most dangerous member of the Justice League even more so than Superman if Hal were to ever try to fight the Justice League on his own. Ozymandias thinks that Batman is the second smartest man on Earth. Mr. Terrific considers himself the third smartest man behind Lex Luthor and Batman. The World Forger, the being who forged universes, considers Batman to be one of the most strategic mind in the multiverse.

In the Comics Bane figured out who Batman is in just a Year by looking at His Chin. I hate most interpretations of Bane because Comics Bane is SUCH a Good Character, and He's not just strength, He's a Genius, has a really good Backstory, has had a History of breaking His Drug Addiction, and is actually respected by Batman. Joker might be Batman's Opposite, but Bane is the Perfect Batman Villain.

Star Sapphire (Carol) isn't on Sinestro's side, though she is Hal's enemy. She's part of the Star Sapphire Corps, just like Hal is Part of the Green Lantern Corps. Instead of green willpower or yellow fear, the star sapphires use love.

Regarding Plastic man, the thing is that he's not Plastic as in the material, like what we use to make non-glass bottles and package wrapping. No, he's plastic as in Maleable, changeable. Like energy plastic man cannot be destroyed, only changed (to a lesser degree) by outside forces and Primarily by his own will. If you are strong enough you can tear him in half... but the guy can literally increase his mass (and size) at will and become as strong as he wants to be... and he can stretch far longer than any reasonable distance you could hope to pull him to so.... yeah good luck with that. He's basically indestructible in a fundamental way to the point that even batman could not figure out a way to permanently take him down, much less out of the game and this is the guy who keeps a dossier on how to do exactly this for EVERY super he has ever met and pretty much all of them have a plan that batman thinks can work. With plastic man? Nothing will work, you can lock him up... disintegrate him into composite particles... throw him into the sun? He'll be back... back again... And even containing him is a real trick given that he can adopt pretty much any form, size and physical qualities he cares to And he's a former (reformed in more ways than one) criminal so when he Does fight for keeps? Dude has no trouble pulling dirty tricks and underhanded tactics which makes him hard to predict compared to most hero types. In short, if superman goes bad, like he did in the injustice story? Plastic man was the guy who could walk into his base, talk to him straight without having to hold back from fear of getting the laser eyes... call him out on his bullshit and just walk back out the door cause Nobody, not even insane injustice superman... wanted to start a fight he knew he simply could not finish. Not out of respect for an old friend like injustice batman... Plastic man doesnt exactly inspire respect in his peers, not on first impressions.. But because simply Noone knows what limits, if any, Plastic man actually has on what he can do aside from his own desire to be a hero and a good (or at least not too bad) man.

So something to keep in mind with the dc animated movies is how the teen titans axt in the actual comics. Its kinda like a justice league in training for younger heroes, like robin. But once they get old enough they leave the titans to either go solo (Nightwing being one example) or join the league in full like cyborg

Funnily enough there are warehouses just full of diamonds in real life, they aren't anywhere near as rare as the diamond industry tells you they are so they keep the diamonds in vaults and warehouses and only sell them when the market starts to dry up. It's also why they created the saying "diamonds are forever" to discourage customers selling their diamonds and flooding the markets.

Cyborg actually has a higher intelligence level than Batman does but Batman has the skills and the experience to look at things differently that's why he is so important to the overall team success is because he looks at things at a different angle than anybody else does even cyborg with his super intelligence misses a lot of key details and angles and possibilities that Batman comes up with because he has that open concept of imagination that he's developed over his career

The reason J'onn or Martian Manhunterwas burning underwater is because he was sweating out magnesium. It's used in fireworks and flares and burns until it runs out. And it would take a while for it to run out as he kept sweating it. Also you guys don't seem to really pay attention to what they say or know most of the other various comic heroes and villains.
