I think it would be a good idea to have Chef Skills challenges in the future where the badge up for grab isn't mentioned. The normals, if we can still call them that, are getting very good. I think by not telling them as the challenge being what's up for grabs they might having to call upon their entire repertoire of skills acquired over the years and really showcase what they've learnt. Maybe it's not the sollution for every badge and challenge, but certainly some blind testing wouldn't go amiss.

This is a prime example of how much the normals have come, couple of years ago if they had this challenge. They probably be panicking like crazy, taking mins to think, wasting alot of food etc. But you can see they immediately when to planning and fast, they already knew in they minds how some dishes can be prep and finished later or adding on further at the end. They knew almost all of how to cook the dishes as well as really helping each other out on the ingredients. It like watching a unit work together, everyone knows their job and covering each other backs. Now there are definitely room for improvements, however this was quite solid. Good on you boys

As someone with A LOT of food allergies, I often have to ask the restaurant/chef to make modifications to meals. Some places simply leave things out which can make food bland (but safe). However, occasionally chefs make modifications that are delicious and don’t leave me feeling like I’m missing out. I think it takes a lot of creativity and understanding of flavor combinations to make modifications on the fly. Another chef skill!

I have a few allergies& intolerances, I always ring ahead before going to a restaurant, just don't like dropping it on someone. I did have one restaurant we used to go to where the chef's son had allergies so they were really helpful to the point I no longer needed to ring ahead. Unfortunately they are now closed. I have also had a few bad experiences at restaurant, although it's been a while, there's more awareness out there now.

@@allibaker Coming from kitchen manager, please, please please keep on ringing ahead with your allergies, it is especially helpful when you do, certainly extra helpful if you made a reservation with it. As someone with food allergies I just don't order items that contain things I am allergic to. The only reason I mention it at all is in the hope they'll be a little extra cautious about cross contamination. It's never occurred to me that I could ask the kitchen staff to reinvent the menu to accommodate my conditions.
@allibaker3 жыл бұрын
@@i-hate-handle-names reinvent the menu? Seriously? Pretty sure I stated that I just request things be left off. If the kitchen staff, the professionals, offers more creative modifications than I greatly appreciate it. I didn’t say I demand it, request it, or expect it in any way. I was saying how nice it is when a chef goes above and beyond in creative ways that I wouldn’t have thought of. And completely their choice as I would never ask them to do it. I carry a supply of medications and epipens in case of cross contamination. I try to order cautiously to avoid possible allergens, because it’s my responsibility to do so. Sheesh! Try to show appreciation for people going the extra mile and being kind, instead get accused of demanding staff reinvent menus. You must be fun to dine with!

More of this, please! It's immensely satisfying to see a team working well together! I agree with others that this could be a new challenge format. I love giving the prep time, as that's what allows big kitchens to run smoothly, and I love the curveballs thrown during service. Add budgeting and profit as extra factors and we'll have the boys running a pop up kitchen in no time!

I usually order stuff the way it's presented on the menu for 3 reasons. 1 it's what the kitchen recommends, 2 they know better than me what they're good at making, and 3 they've probably made it that way 10000 times so they're probably pretty good at it.

I loved this format of simulating a real kitchen experience! It would be so fun to see more of these in the future with “customer” orders!

Y’all should do a teamwork pass it on with 2 people in the kitchen at one time - each team has 10 minutes: Baz/Mike, Baz/Jamie, Baz/Ben, Mike/Jamie, Jamie/Ben, Mike/Ben. For an added twist: each person can only use one hand

Really enjoyed the guys working together, really showed what great friends they are! Battles and stuff are fun, but their true relationship was shown here and I cant be happier!

Barry still hasn't got the unlimited budget battle againt Ben, and I think we all want it to be close race so more badges videos!!!!!!!!!!!

Id love to see this become a format !! Seeing the normals work together was really interesting and the tension of a professional kitchen spices it up a bit ! Ben made me think about chefs in cooking shows, suddenly very serious and picky but still encouraging Overall an amazing video !!

I would love the bois to take on a teaching challenge - just like in a professional kitchen, they each need to teach a less skilled cook. At the end, the "students" battle it out, and depending on the result, the boys might recieve a "teaching" badge!

Full English was missing the beans. Ebbers loses his Expediter badge, because he didn't catch the issue at the pass before it went out.

Beans weren't on the order. It's possible that the customer asked for no beans.

YES! More of this. This video was so satisfying to watch, normals working together, knocking it out of the park. Perfection! 🙌🏿 🥰

I’m half through the video and impressed by all the organisation skills but also secretly hoping that some carnage will ensue. Apparently I like to see the world burn. Or you know, some food in a Sortedfood video. 😂

I loved this video and thought the guys had great teamwork. The fact that they each asked the others what they could do to help in between tasks shows care for the team and not individual credit for the work. Great job guys!

All right normals it's time for your midterms. The food needs to make three identical plates of food for each normal to taste and then replicate that includes plating as well. There are no badges up for grabs however the normals must select five badges that they have and thus must show some skill in, or the badge is revoked.

Okay everyone - who do you think is going to be the first to lose their teamwork badge during a Pass it On? ...my money's on Barry. He's got the history.

I am genuinely impressed that they met the challenge, where still funny/fun to watch, and they didn't completely turn on each other. Shout out to Mike who got his job done and was a total nag about "Anyone need help" that's good quality teamwork. You don't want to be standing around while your team may well be flailing about. Genuinely one of the most impressive of the chef skills.

As a left hander, I'm not embarrassed to admit that I cheered when Jamie managed that first time. Tin openers are the work of the devil and don't you forget it.

I've been subscribed for so long now but never actually watched the channel until this week. Best decision I've made in a while! Honestly can't stop watching and I now have the meal packs app. You guys are so enjoyable to watch!
