Barry just exemplified the ‘keep calm and carry on’ and delivered an elegantly put together dish. These battles really highlight what happens when we can’t reign in the panic. Good lesson for life being practically presented! Also, it was endearing that Barry tried to be kind about how Jamie’s dish tasted! It’s what I like best about the Sorted team, they really are friends at the end of the day. Sorry for the long response, just rewatched the video thrice and this is me outlining everything I loved about it 😅

Yes making mayo is fairly easy, but if you screw it up multiple times, it's perfectly fine to just take a few dollops from a jar. :P

@@TrevorJNagy This is so not true and you're 100% downplaying Barry's effort's, he's had the biggest comback from the time when they battled for brownie points, improving along the way, ofcourse he had his moment sometimes more then not where he stepped a lil to far out of the box but he has without a doubt improved the most, Jamie was not having a bad day, he stepped waaaaay to far outside the box and went for a cuisine that he never really cooked before (also he just like barry and mike had help from Kush to help idealize his course menu) In the end you are just bitter then your Fav of the 3 lost and it shows. Turnip tops (we call them turnip greens) are a staple food in the southern US. The flavor is stronger than spinach but milder than collard greens. You can buy them canned but fresh turnip greens, slow cooked with ham or bacon and the diced turnip roots, is a traditional dish served with black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day. turnip tops are very common from where I am (Galicia, Spain) and specially my town. we call the new sprouts ,navizas, wich is pretty much the same as the video. If you let them grow more they turn in to grelos they are more bitter and fibrous, wich are very ussed in a lot of stews, boils and warm salads.

I wonder if forcing pressured air (like a soda siphon but perhaps not with CO2) into such a collapsed emulsion will invigorate it, as I don't think the chemical structures of the emulsions turn any different between either case. Smoked mackerel is one of the tastiest things ever and you can do so much with it. Barry did great and I'm craving mackerel, breaded and pickled herring (strömming in Swedish wich is the same as herring but not quite) and smoked or pan-fried perch. If your fishmonger sells smoked fins try them, it is crunchy, smoky and salty. It is amazing.

I love the idea of the chefs doing a 15 minute batte! Suggestion to make it interesting: at 10 mins left you reveal a secret ingredient they have to make the star of the dish! That might keep them on thier toes 😊 Thanks for all the great vids.

USA southern here. Turnip greens are usually cooked down here like collards. I am single, so I usually buy a can from a local company. They are great w cornbread & slow cooked black eyed peas! It's interesting to see how you across the pond prepare.

And this is why I don't understand the people who say Barry shouldn't have won Sous Chef and it should be Jamie. (Even/especially when those people are Kush...) Awesome video! Poor Jamie.

@@purplewolfranger22 One bad showing? Love when people blindly defend Jamie cause he's the funny guy lol. He always sticks to the safest bets but give him a slight curveball and he causes a disaster. Barry and Mike are far more creative and daring on the other hand and Barry might've had a few poor showings since he got the apron, but he's been the most technically skilled and creative in recent times, even in the pass it ons, he does far better than the other 2 normals.

@@toscirafanshaw9735 aye. Also Barry got done in during the Chef Challenges by both the community and other people. As he had 3-5 badges removed from him or was punished due to Jamie or Mike mistakes.

Turnip tops can be used in "Greens" in the south (usually collard greens, but also mustard and turnip). You're going to cook off some fatback (pork) or bacon until it starts to render. Then add diced onion to the pork fat. Then add your greens and cover with water. Cook the greens on a low heat until they are tender. So good!

Watching Ben shoot questions to the guys from the sidelines paints a vivid image of them back in secondary school with Ben quizzing them before a big exam. He would be an excellent study buddy!

I would love to see a challenege where each normal brings three tins from home. They keep one of them and then have to pick one from each of the other guys . Basically swapping cans between themself. So they would end up with 1 known and 2 mystery tins/cans and have to make a dish in 30 minutes with them. Gives each of them a chance to screw each other over.

Im just starting this but I think these battles would be a bit more fair if they rps for each item. So for 3 item choices, they would rps 3 times. Basically, each time they have to pick between two items, they should rps for it.
