That's what buffalo wings are, at least where I live, albeit it's usually a specific type of hot sauce (Louisiana style), mixed with butter. I don't think I've ever seen anybody make the hot sauce from scratch too. I'm sure you could, but with the enormous variety of amazing hit sauces in the market, the chances of nailing your own scratch hot sauce that's better than bottles are kinda slim IMHO.
@kodiak74474 жыл бұрын
@@giannidescalzo2101 here in buffalo its actually a lot more simple than that we use one type of hot sauce (Franks) and if you want it less hot you add in melted butter and that is it but if you want to make it better add in honey and cook it together then toss the wings in the sauce

Regarding the CT question and the subject of roasting whole chickens, I always butterfly them to ensure that the breast and leg meat are done at the same time. Everything always ends up perfectly juicy and never dry. Conveniently, also decreases the overall roasting time of the whole bird to roughly 45 minutes to an hour, the same as a bed of chopped root vegetables, which means that I can simply butterfly the chicken and prepare it as I usually do (rub a mixture of ghee, salt, and fresh thyme beneath the skin), lay it directly on top of mixed root vegetables that have been tossed in duck fat, salt, and pepper, and then roast the whole lot. Couldn't be easier and it feeds me for days! Plus I get a roasted chicken carcass for stock.
@khinweepang5 жыл бұрын
1:49 Goodness, you should always remove the yellow scaley layer covering the skin. Use the blade of a knife to pry the edges up and clasp it between that and your thumb to peel it off. That's the outer protective scale layer that comes into contact with all the dirt and chicken poo. Probably has an undesirable texture too. Don't waste that delicious chicken skin.

I absolutely love chicken! I have been watching SORTEDfood for a while now and it's actually one of the reasons as to why I cook most of my meals instead of getting take out. I feel as though that making my own food and preparing my meal really helps in finding my own flavor or satisfying the taste that I crave for. I can control how much I put in and what I put in my food to make it tasty and SORTEDfood has really helped me discover some new flavors and technique. Fried chicken is one of my favorite things to cook and I love spicy food so I would try Jamie's recipe first and then try the others. You guys change the whole concept of video recipes which is why you guys are so entertaining to watch. The attention to every detail within everyone else's recipe like finishing touches, plating, spices used, food presentation, etc. are important key points to keep in mind when cooking for yourself or for friends. The meals made in this video seem really nice and easy to prepare and make for yourself and some friends if you're really craving good food.

Your bleu cheese dipping sauce was pretty much spot on. You can also use either lemon or lime juice as the acidic component if you want. As to the wings, if you want TRUE Buffalo wings, aka what are served around Buffalo NY where they originated at the Anchor Bar, you need three components. Wings, Frank's Redhot Sauce (which is a cayenne pepper sauce) and butter. You fry the wings, and while the wings are frying you melt a stick of butter into the Frank's sauce. The more butter you have in relation to the Redhot will determine how hot it comes out. The more butter, the hotter it will be as the butter allows the hot sauce to cling to the wing better. No flour needed to dredge the wing into. No buttermilk, no sugar etc. Fry the wings, toss in the butter/Redhot sauce and serve. The celery (and also carrot) sticks were served on the side. One as a sort of pallet cleansing/cooling, but more so, because when the Anchor bar came up on the spur of the moment for something so serve, that is all they had on hand was wings, hotsauce, butter, blue cheese dressing, and celery.
