Sorting through 5,000 pokemon cards for rare cards

What pokemon cards to collect? What pokemon cards are the best to keep? After opening hundreds of pokemon packs this is my method for how I pick the most expensive pokemon cards and keep the best pokemon cards in my own collection. Cards I keep are EX, GX, ultra rare cards, as well as any rare and reverse holographic cards.

Such a great idea with using the ETB sideways. I've actually had to use this tip today as I have a load of cards from the Japanese Volt Tackle set and also Vivid Voltage that I've just decided to sleeve up everything however need something where the actual sleeved cards aren't going to move around loads. A sideways ETB with the cards vertically stacked on my desk is a great idea

Always nice to sort through your cards. I tend to go through the cards upside down makes it easier to see the set symbol or rarity symbol

@@GrumbleGamer18 Some can be found online, and others are actually held in person. Facebook groups and next door has worked well to find some. Be careful for the ones that are hosted online. My tracking for this package has not shown as dropped off since the sale in this instance. Tracking was provided right after purchase but has not shipped according to usps.

the only cards i personally will never get rid of, no matter how common or rare they are, are the ones from xy evolutions. i would like to have a complete set one day :) call it nostalgia... i have only opened one box so far because of how expensive they are, but you never know... out of all the other cards i have, i am also looking to keep the rares ones, GX, EX etc, or any of my favorite pokemon even if they are just commons :) GREAT video like always!! so helpful!

Yeah, I agree there are a lot of fakes. Parent definitely has to educate their kids on this. We purchased a bunch of pokemon cards as a reward for excellent grades and my son traded two GX cards for a fake card in school. The other kid didn't know he had fake cards apparently. It was a good learning lesson for my son for sure.

If I'm not mistaking holo cards the entire card is holo not just the picture box if you use isopropyl alcohol you can wipe the ink away and see the holo underneath

It’s completely your choice. Personally, I would hold onto at least one of every card from each set you buy from. Other than that, it is just bulk. You can sell them for a little or give them away.

I don’t think you could fit a top loader in a binder. I would suggest keeping them in a separate box if you have a lot. Often times the boxes you can buy top loaders in work as a great budget way to store them.

You mite not get to this, but do you personaly sell your own holos, reverse holos, rares? And the bulk non rare non holos you send to card shops for cash/store credit... I want to sell all my cards, but I want my value, I don't want to lose money. If I say my collection is worth thousands, I don't want to be given hundreds. Maybe you can make a more in depth video of that. I'm trying to put in the work, but same time find a way to save time. I don't think I'd sell every bulk card individually or in lots because that would take forever right.. I watched one video of you explaining selling, but I feel it needs to be updated for new video. Thank you

Just somethings i would like to mention, The Ditto was actually from fossil, I’m pretty sure putting modern holos in top loaders is a tad overkill… Anyways great video for people looking for help on sorting their cards!

Check the prices of your modern holos. Some from when this video was made. You will see the prices are increasing better then those v cards your looking after.
