I like how they completely skipped over the line " It'd be wasteful, to not at least use it once.", followed by a shooting star and him not actually sleeping that night.

They. Did. It. Again. It always amazes me seeing Bros being able to almost crack the whole thing just by watching 1 or 2 episodes, especially when the original author has actual real life experience and heavily draws from it. Real-life dramas and coming of age stories are hands down the best material for Bros to react to and analyze

Love that you guys are reacting to this! It only gets better and better with each episode. The characters are amazing and have so much nuance. Even the side characters have growth & development. Its a phenomenal first season. Not to mention Season 2, that ranked #1 for Anime Trending anime of the week for the whole season (13 straight weeks) which gives you some insight into how great it was. I believe the first time ever an anime has sweeped a whole season. You're in for a treat!

I watched both seasons and then read through the manga three times in about 5 days. Not only is it peak romcom, or just peak anime/manga overall, it's the first one that I would say actually influenced me in real life. It helped me with my depression and led me to learning japanese, learning to draw and taking better care of my body.

Oh, you are in for a treat with this one. Easily the best romcom I've seen in years. The thing about this romance is the depth of the feelings, not only romantic ones but it portrays very well the mind of elementary schoolers with their insecurities, social pressures, relationships, etc and learning how to cope with changes in life. So not only is about romance but also their character development. This anime has 2 feats under his shadow: it managed to change 180 degrees the popular opinion from mid to excellent within one season to the point it surpassed even Oshi no Ko in popularity polls with its last episodes. Also, when season 2 aired it was the first time that an anime stayed on #1 in popularity during an entire season (yes, 13 eps on top), which is even greater considering Frieren, Apothecary Diaries and Solo Leveling were around at that season.

I almost screamed when I saw this upload. This is one of my favorite new romances of all time. I like all the thoughts you've put into Ichikawa's psychology. I think its already a sign of greatness to the writing that you are able to look at a character who alot of people just thought of as cringe and creepy and be able to point out Ichikawa's insecurities and already see the path to his journey as he's trying to figure himself out and his feelings. To be honest your deeper look into Yamada surprised me because in the first episode it was hard for most people including myself to see patterns in Yamada's behaviour. It took me a couple episodes to realize that while Yamada is an airhead she is quite emotionally intelligent. I dropped the series at first but alot of people reassured me to continue and now its one of my favorites looking forward to it

The Dangers in my Heart is a little bit of a mistranslation title. It's based on an idiom that basically is talking about being twisted in some way. Sorta like we would say "sick in the head" they would say something similar to "dangers in my heart"
@fdavadnvoa19 күн бұрын
I'd say it's a bit over localized or analyzed by you. (some japanese creators hate how the overseas localize the translation) Author's official translation is the dangers in my heart, it's in the original manga lol It is literally the exact translation to original japanese title word by word. And japanese title is not some slang or idiom, so i don't think you should seek that from english translation
@solrm12219 күн бұрын
@fdavadnvoa I'm not making this up out of nowhere though, the reason I say this is because he uses the phrase in the show in the same way as we use the idiom "sick in the head". I'm a translator and any translator worth their salt can tell you that translating word for word is NOT usually best practice, especially when the outcome is, like this title, kinda nonsensical and grammatically and idiomatically illogical. Not disputing that is what the official translator did, but yes, throwing a little shade. It's not a good translation of a title, and should join the likes of Attack on Titan, and March Comes in Like a Lion as the worst translated titles in Anime.
@BekindBekbek19 күн бұрын
IMO, after what I seen in this anime, it`s because Ichikawa eventually will overthink himself to the point of a heart attack)

@solrm12218 күн бұрын
@@Amuro1X lol I'm not disputing it's a literal translation. You misunderstand the work of translation. Literal translation is not equal to a GOOD translation. Translating an idiom literally is mistranslating when the idiom doesn't exist in the target language.

This show is so good, it has *much* more realistic feeling character development, it's a bit slow so some people won't enjoy it, but there is a *lot* to talk about when it comes to how the main characters all change their behaviours, what they care about, and what they think about. It's subtly gripping in the best way.

This is, for me, the most realistic teen romance I've seen. Of course, like any fantasy series, it has its idealistic undertones, but I consider this series to be the closest to reality because of the awareness, development, chemistry, and interaction of the main characters. Every time I watch this series and the main characters interacting, I get the feeling that they are real teenagers, which terrifies me, but at the same time I love it. That if, this series is a masterpiece of showing and not telling, it is one of those series that is worth analyzing to get its full potential, the author relies on the viewer/reader's ability to analyze and leaves little details, symbolisms or parallels from one scene to another, I think it is one of those stories that deserve your time and analysis for how well written they are.
@andrea79357 күн бұрын
It is the first work in which the adolescent characters are truly driven by hormones, and not by an ideal platonic love where at most they hold hands. Ichikawa has real sexual drives, and the "fanservice" is more for the benefit of the story's protagonist than for the benefit of the viewer.

The weird thing for me in this anime, is that Yamada is kinda plain, most of the focus and development goes to ichikawa.
@xTakeya18 күн бұрын
that's not true at all, you just think that because you see the story from ichikawa's POV only so it's easier to notice his development. If you pay attention you will see how much Yamada develops aswell, just compare how she is in ep 1 to how she is at the end of the S2. She's way more mature, aware and confident by the end.

The beauty of this story is that you are really inside the head of the protagonist, and you see, hear, and perceive the world as he perceives it. And through his eyes you also see the evolution of the other characters, who in reality may already have "grown up", but you still perceive them through the eyes of the protagonist.

@@nonebob8576 Season 3 is a 2 parter, part 1 is over and we have a 2 months break now, part 2 will commence in February. They want to react to it in one go, so that events from part 1 are still fresh in their mind while watching part 2. I think this is a good decision considering so many reactors tend to forget stuff when there is a break between parts.
