kinda sad that Ume thought she was dragging Gyuutaro down when in reality, she was the reason Gyuutaro got stronger and manage to survive. This could apply to Gyuutaro too. He thought he didn't deserve to raise Ume and thought he was a bad influence that led her to stabbing the samurai in the eye when in reality, Ume only did that because the samurai was badmouthing Gyuutaro, he called him a strain in the eye bc of his appearance. (it was written on the taisho secret data book by the author btw) Its kinda sad that both siblings didnt see the advantage of being together and having each other and only see themselves as hindrances when in reality, they were both the reason why both of them are living.

Thia is the fourth time we see a display of Nezuko's Blood Demon Art affecting and destroying other demon's Blood Art without hurting humans. She burned Rui's attack which gave Tanjiro the opening to strike his neck. Then in Mugen Train, she burned the rope that tied Tanjiro and the gang to the kids who entered their dream world. Third time is when Nezuko's blood spattered on Daki during their fight and she said it burns her and hinders her regeneration.

Yeah, a lot of people see it as an ass-pull when it's already been set up for a while. It's basically a demon art version of sunlight (which makes sense since her dad had sun breathing I think)

I’m probably wrong but I also thought of it as a demon taking some aspect of their human life and building upon it in some way during their demon life. Or that an aspect of what the demon desires becomes manifested through their acquired demon blood arts. Rui wanted family connections and that was symbolically represented by the webs connecting and linking things and people together. Nezuko’s focus since transforming has been pretty much retaining her family bonds and memories while protecting humans and resisting temptation. It made sense for her to acquire a skill that attacked demons while harmless to humans since that’s been her aim. So far it seems demons manifest what they’re aiming at in a way, so it also seems to work in that regard.

also, have you noticed the parallels of tanjiro and nezuko on the backstory of gyuutaro and ume? its crazy that there's quite many: - Ume on Gyuutaro's back like Nezuko on Tanjiro's back on the very first episode - Gyuutaro being away for work while Ume was burned alive while Tanjiro was away for work while his family was slaughtered - Gyuutaro and Ume's saviour is a Upper Moon demon while Tanjiro and Nezuko's saviour was a Demon Slayer - Giyuu. - Kamado Siblings being loved by everyone on the town while Ume and Gyuutaro is hated by everyone on the district - Gyuutaro and Ume encountering the former UM6 in a snowy night while Tanjiro and Nezuko encountered Giyuu on a snowy day

Daki does mention in the previous episodes that Nezuko has a "bizzare blood demon art that only harms demons". So in truth her power is still only one thing - burning demons. She can't heal, it was only this specific scenario where she could burn Gyutaro's blood demon art poison out of people. And as you pointed out, she can't fix physical injuries

Remember in Season 1 Tamayo compared demons to diseases. The sisters name Ume is in reference to the japanese word for siphylis and Gyutaro's appearence, like his fucked up teeth, are also symptoms of congenital syphilis. Even though the Kamado's had a tough life, at least they were untouched by sickness. In a way Muzan and Tanjiro both want to find a cure for the disease that is demonism, only Muzan wants it to walk around in the sun and Tanjiro to make Nezuko normal again.

Just to clarify (no spoilers). Nezuko has shown being able to burn away blood demon art techniques with Rui and his strings and Gyutaro and his blood sickles. Her power is designed to destroy the powers of other demons which explains the poison being nullified because it stems from Gyutaro's blood demon art

your comments about team battles are interesting because ever since Mugen Train I kinda figured a lot of the major fights from now on would be team fights. Especially with how powerful Akaza is set up to be in a 1 on 1 with a hashira as strong as Rengoku I was like "oh okay so for the upper moons it will be basically impossible for anyone to solo them" so I'm definitely expecting more team battles because no one so far seems strong enough to truly solo an upper rank demon.

Not many reactors or really anyone pick up on this from 1 of Gyutaro's lines but.... In the Gyutaro backstory, he says "Worm! Dimwit! Sad Sack! Coward! Good for nothing!" and that exact quote is also what he said to Tanjiro in the previous episode (2x17), just a small little thing but figured worth mentioning. Tbf, a lot of things he has said in this arc are also jabs at himself. He also saw himself in Tanjiro a bit when he said he didn't dislike Tanjiro who he viewed as disgraceful...cause Gyutaro himself is disgraceful. All this...cause the "Entertainment" District as a place, wasn't always as "entertaining" as it sounds 👀 Those kinda places even irl had lots of dark stuff surrounding em and hiding beneath the "entertainment" side of it all and sadly Gyutaro and Daki/Ume got it bout the worst. We can feel for them both and we now understand what drove them to it. I loved Gyutaro's speech to the Samurai before he killed him....that Samurai taking the one thing keeping Gyutaro sane (or as sane as he could be) was the tipping point and his speech basically shows that he snapped... i mean who wouldn't? Mans would curse God, Buddha and all that and threaten to come after em...all cause he wanted to protect his sister. He was basically Tanjiro but had the circumstances been a bit different. Tanjiro had a loving family, loving siblings and a pretty simple life but a good one nonetheless so even when his family died.... he didn't go down the dark path. Gyutaro was the complete opposite, no loving family outside of Ume, born in a place where he was treated as vile and ugly and his own kind took all from him, Ume included which absolutely set him off Gyutaro had to deal with the worst side of humanity whereas Tanjiro had to deal with demons. *As they say, humans and demons while different, at the end of the day... we're very much alike and sometimes humans are more demon than demons* Such a sad past but least they together even if it meant Hell or oblivion 😭

It was like the fandom knew this is what they like Douma to sound like lol. *(slight) MANGA SPOILERS* : When Douma vs Shinobu was going on in the manga, everyone keeps mentioning Miyano Mamoru on every tweet not just on western Twitter but Japanese Twitter that his name always trends like crazy. On the radio he did mentioning he is voicing Douma after the release of s2 last episode, he mentioned how he's seen all the posts and even his friends mentioning he should voice Douma though he can't tell them yet at that time that he already is confirmed to voice him ever since Mugen Train was in production. Pretty sure that the demand was so high that he prob didn't have to audition for the role lol. It's actually my first time seeing an entire fandom manifesting a certain VA to voice a character that ended up coming true lol so I was also excited when I heard him! He's finally joining the amazing voice casts of Demon Slayer. Can't wait for more!

Nezuko didn't heal the poison, it makes a lot more sense than that. The poison was Gyutaro's blood, her fire burns demons, so burning the person who's poisoned means burning the blood inside them, negating it's effects.

Demon Slayer isn't my personal favorite show, but objectively it is SO good. I always bawled for the sad backstories. Ume&Gyutaro and Rui's (and one more that hasn't appeared in the show) are prob my favorites as far as the demons go. I also like the new demon's backstory for a different reason XD. I absolutely love how he's voiced by Miyano Mamoru lmao. That's such a perfect voice for him. I love Tengen's scene with his wives here too. Tengen is such a cool character, but he's also so goofy XDD. Contemplating how he can't give his cool last words to his wives while two of them are fighting was so funny. And then the peak comedy is Nezuko appearing out of nowhere and burning him as if giving him a cremation XDDDD. Suma being the one who's about to snap is hilarious since she's been portrayed as the timid one. Off topic, but are you guys going to react to Dr. Stone's special episode? It's plot-relevant, and is a bridge to s3. (recommending the bros to watch Link Click and Hyouka)

That was a great final episode to cap off an exciting arc. Uzi gets to retire with his wives and make a lot of baby ninjas. Tanjirou and the gang take out their first upper ranked demon. Nezuko unlocks a new power. Lastly, the tide is finally turning in favor of the slayer corps and, after a hundred years, of being on the back foot. They've dealt a critical blow to Muzan's forces. Season 3 can't come soon enough.

I personally believe that Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art is a parallel demon version of Tanjiro’s Sun Breathing which is why it could burn away and erase the DEMON poison from everyone’s bodies. That said, however, that would mean that Nezuko isn’t getting burned by her own Blood Demon Art that’s highly effective against demons. Anyway, that’s my theory.

Nezuko has always burned demon and demon arts only, leaving humans unhurt. It wouldn't make sense for Nezuko NOT to be able to burn the poison away. Her fire burns demon blood art and not humans so obviously it would burn the demon blood art and not the human. It's not healing, it's doing the exact same thing it's always done.

Gyutaro didn't actually poison the Master, he's cursed because Muzan and the Master are distant relatives (which is why he said Muzan is the sole blemish in his entire family). I won't go into the details since that'll spoil stuff that will come up/be discussed in the show later on.

Pretty nice conclusion , though it's pretty clear at this point that there is no point in even worrying in the slightest, about our MC's well being. Nezuko is pretty much a deus ex machina at this point , last attack could have been cut out and the end result wouldn't change. As much as I love Inosuke he really should have died, or at the very least be permanently out of fighting , in the end he just confirmed the thickness of plot armor. At least he wasn't immune to the poison , although he shouldn't be resistant in the first place , Tengen is one thing with his shinobi training , eating random mushroms won't give you resistance to poisons. Also as a side note , why is wisteria poison so underused ? It's pretty much a cheat against demons , allowing barely alive Tanjiro a chance to fight back in the last episode and somehow we don't see it used . At the very LEAST every hashira should have it .

I dont know if you saw the manga. So i am keeping this vague l. The stronger the demon (aka the closer it is to muzan), the more resistance to wisteria they are. Dozens of kilos are needed to affect upper six, and even then it wouldn't straight up kill them.

As you have seen, against Upper Moons wisteria poison is barely effective. Regarding the Plot armor, what were you expecting? The MC's death? But don't worry, plot armor won't mean anything in S4.

@@Gabriele_Oliva Unfortuately , it is canon that one of te Hashira uses poison as their main weapon while using a blade that can't be used for decapitation , so why is it not used by other Hashira ? Even the slightest advantage should be utilized . As far as we know Rengoku could have won his fight if he had his blade laced with poison . Plot armor is and will always be a flaw , sometimes bigger sometimes smaller , but still a flaw. In perfect story it would not occur , so it would not be needed or the writer would face consequences of writing themselves in a situation where , for example a character would definitely die . In the first scenario fights make perfect sense in their conclusion without any doubt from the consumer , in the latter there could be a number of things done depending on the tone and directio of the story . Yes, Inosuke could have and SHOULD have died in this arc from what we have scene . Again, he is my favourite and his death would be probably pretty hard on me , but I would tak it instead of him living through the bs author came up on the spot . Make him retire into a side character , make us mourn his death, intorudece someone new or don't , but never go " oh yeah, he lived lol...".

@@Wilk779 Inosuke fought Tanjiro with busted ribs, survived having his neck almost crushed by the hulking spider demon, and is naturally resistant to poison due to his time living on the mountains. If Nezuko didn't neutralize the poison in his body, he would've died, but he didn't due to the fact that Nezuko used her abilities to neutralize the demon blood art causing the effect in time before he succumbed to the poison. Also, Wisteria poison, as others have said, is less and less effective the stronger the demon is. They wouldn't need it against anything that isn't an Upper Moon Demon and the poison isn't something that can be mass produced for everyone within the demon slayer corps to utilize as well. Even if Rengoku coated his blade in Wisteria poison, it still wouldn't have changed the outcome enough to prevent Rengoku's death. UM6 was slowed down, but still was able to resist Tanjiro's attempt at decapitating him while he was temporarily stunned. Against UM3, it most likely wouldn't have even slowed him down since Akaza has abilities that can allow him to attack at range and has enough movement speed to keep out of Rengoku's strike range, if not dodge blows instead of tanking them to make a point with his regeneration. It'd only effective against weaker demons like the armor is, at best.

@@Wilk779 I pretty much think that the author purposely wrote the scene that way exactly to show Nezuko's powers and Inosuke's abilities, not that we hadn't seen both previously: Nezuko's counter effect to other demons is shown 3 times before, even in s1, same goes for the flexibility of Inosuke, regarding his resistance to poison, is quite reasonable. For me this is not plot armor, or a slight one, because of what I just said. Against lower demons poison is as effective as blades since they are easy to kill, but for Upper Moons kilogams of poison are required to be at least barely effective, and such quantity can't be Injected. Simply is not that much convenient in a fight, plus as someone else said, It's really difficult to produce it.

Worst episode but not bad. My biggest complaint is really that Inosuke had his mask on!
