Fun fact: in the original Manga, it was Spider-Man and Mickey Mouse that were reported missing. They removed all mentions of Mickey and replaced Spider-Man with Batman because Jojo’s is being produced in part by Warner Bros, so they can get away with mentioning a Warner property. Also in the Manga Anasui shouts “ FOR FUCK’S SAKE! IF THERE’S NO MICKEY THIS SHIT AIN’T DISNEY!!” Upon noticing that Mickey Mouse was missing from a Disney billboard.

They cut and changed A LOT about Bohemian Rhapsody from the manga, not only for copyright reasons, but also for time. In the manga, it's made much more clear that this effect is occurring everywhere in the world, from the US to Japan to Italy, and it's ALL visual depictions of characters, from Mickey Mouse to The Birth of Venus.

Something I love is that the range for BR is worldwide, so everywhere this stuff is happening. That means Morioh Gang and Passione are all probably fighting different threats from different medias, from Akira to Medusa to Bowser. Every stand user we know who should still be alive is probably fighting off some threat, and probably believes it's some Stand threat but can't find the user.

(SPOILER FREE) One thing I do want to comment on is that you guys are absolutley right in think that acquiring stands are the natural progression of human evolution. This has been something established in earlier parts. In part 5, they clarify that the virus carried by the arrow ISNT what caused stands. Instead the virus forces the person to undergo "viral evolution." Then again the arrow is straight up magic with a mind of its own. But this idea also holds up for natural born stand users like polnareff and people who naturally acquire them through skill like rohan and tonio. Many people seem to miss this point, but Im glad yall realized this.

yeah, I know this may sound off topic but as a Hunter x Hunter and JoJo fan, its amazing to see the similarities between them both (if you're not aware, Togashi got a bunch of ideas from JoJo to build the intriguind world of HxH), Nen and Stands works almost identically when it comes to awakening, both Nen and Stands are more or less a "concentration of vital energy" that awakens when someone reaches their peak, this awakening can be both made naturally, when someone becomes so good but so good at something that this person becomes unable to become even better at it, since they've reached the limit, and their body and existence kinda just "evolves" so it can become even better at that, Tonio(JJBA) and Kogumi(HxH) being good examples of that; or Artificially, the arrow's virus puts you in a situation where you either evolve or die, the virus will not awaken a stand, like you mentioned it will quite literally attempt to kill you with everything it has, and your body will be FORCED to evolve (and thus awakening a stand) to survive, something similar can also happen with Nen when your own Nen can burst open when you're attacked by a Nen-User when you're not one yourself, and if you dont manage to surpress it you will die, if you dont congrats you're a nen user now

Yeah, as mentioned, it's shown on screen but not emphasized enough to draw enough attention to it. Not sure if I'd consider it a blunder of the anime's director or an actual good decision to make it a sweet little "blink and you'll miss it" detail. When reading the manga, we can take in each page and detail at our own pace, but with the forced movement of time in anime, the team may have decided to let the detail be more subtle intentionally for more eagle-eyed viewers, as the information gets more spelled out later on. Those who see it get rewarded with a shock of "Did I just see that? What does that mean exactly?" and carry just a small bit of extra info, while those who miss it will have to wait a bit and may experience more of a bombshell when the info comes.

Bohemian Rhapsody is one of te strangest stands with the biggest range.Firstly, its range is LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. If you got depictions of anything vgauely fictional/non-fctional/semi-fictional, it becomes REAL. Secondly, this is as far as I now the only stand that doesn't have a proper, real form, the stand is simply...the global event of depictions of characters coming to life. And of course finding the stand user would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

In addition, Batman took the place of Spider-Man as a cameo mention, due to Disney and Sony's rabid hold of the beloved web-slinging superhero. Batman was actually the replacement since the anime is produced by Warner Bros Japan, and DC Comics is owned by Warner Bros Discovery, it was already in house to use.
