5:45 Interestingly, the mangaka (aka akasaka) had 2 weekly series at this time (oshi no ko and kaguya sama) so he's double insane

@@ManuGeorge-d5l its probably a lot harder to come up with a bunch of interesting gags than to just drive a story along that you planned out ahead of time. The story naturally flows in its path, you know what you write this week, next week and the week after. Meanwhile with gag stuff you have to come up with situations, jokes, character moments that are mostly self contained and isolated which might be referenced again later.

12:48 It's very quick, but if you pause when the page with all the videos is on the screen, you can see she managed to get something like halfway through the first episode before dropping it, and she didn't get anywhere near as far with all the other episodes. She didn't even touch the final episode, so she didn't know it was the one good episode either.

I agree more with Caleb than Jacob on the job of the creator. As obe myself i would say the job of the creator is to push the story he wants to tell regardless of the audience he gets because he can't control that unless he does specific things that attracts the masses but those things might get in the way of the original idea. The author must cook up a story that he feels will entertain while taking his experience into account but not focus on the actual audience he has while he is actively writting/drawing. Whether it's good or bad at the end of the day they should push what they want to tell to completion then take that experience into their next work.

Cute story, but no. If you're self publishing a book then sure, write whatever you want. But in this case, you are not writing for yourself. You are getting published in a major magazine owned by a publishing company with connections in multimedia entertainment platforms. If you want to get published in there, you better write stories that the audience like and pay for. If your rankings drop, the company loses money so they will drop you. That's the reality of the world. You want to write your own stories? Fine. But publish them yourself.

@@ManuGeorge-d5l you write what they like and pay for already by the nature of you being there. I'm not saying you can be in shounen mag and do a seinen. I'm saying you already know what a shounen is and what people like to see and you already have a vision on that story you want to tell with those elements. So you don't need to get influenced by the actual fanbase while you're currently writting it. Of course if the magazine drops you they drop you and that's fine. You then apply that experience on the next work. Changing your story based on the fandoms experience just to avoid cancelation isn't the best choice to make for your creative process i think.
@ManuGeorge-d5l
@ManuGeorge-d5l Ай бұрын
@@christophekanaa1104 Actually you're gonna get influenced by your editor. Even if you don't care about the fanbase, as they said in this episode, the editor's role is to make sure he keeps the manga popular and stopping it from ending. He will force you eventually to do things you might not like if you want to continue, based on what the fans want. If you're even lucky to get that chance of correcting the story. Usually they just cancel you to avoid conflict. Japanese society... But yea, I do get your point with the details. Sadly, if what the audience demands is not fulfilled and numbers drop, it will come back to bite the author in the ass I'm mad that authors can't tell their own stories, but it's a double edge sword. For example, most of Naruto was the editor's idea. What Kishimoto wanted to do was stupid and it wouldn't been a hit. On the other hand, I wanted to see the author of Attack on Titan murder everyone and not change the story to pander to fans and editor demands. It is what it is...

@@ManuGeorge-d5lsame with spyxfamily the author said in an interview that he had a very different idea about the characters in the story but his editor told him to make them cute and appealing to the wider audience along with adding the whole fake family premise as Japan loves sol stuff so that way it will become an instant hit and for sure it was but at what cost?

I gotta disagree, people have plenty of opinions about either being an author or an entertainer, but I believe an author gotta know the middle ground, when the audience gets very invested in a secondary character you didn't think much of it, and it can improve things, it can make things worse, it might change the direction of the story, a good author gotta now when to keep course and when to pivot, there's too much nuance to just think things always gotta be as in the mind of the author, there's plenty of masterpieces that would never come out if it wasn't for the right editor keeping deadlines and cutting the fat

To me the convo between both authors works because of one factor and its the factor the series pushes a lot The system has a way its functioned for years, and right now that method can't work in order for things to progress, Yoriko went into this thinking she can't be disrespectful, she can't speak her mind, Abiko has all the agency by both being successful in the way the industry wants while also being able to control who gets final say on the play However, if she wont listen to anyone other than someone in the same field as her, Yoriko has to do what she couldnt do back on sweet today which is was drop pretenses and talk to Abiko like a person not someone trying to stay in her good graces, and the convo ends with her saying to Abiko its a good thing all those things you were saying were to me because anyone else wouldnt stand for it This shows that Yoriko is really at the end of the day the only person Abiko could vent to and fight with without it ending terribly but that also means for so long Yoriko's own fear of talking back to someone she perceives is in the right was actually destroying something if she took too long, Abiko was one bad day away from working herself to death let alone the ruining the play Sometimes the best ways to help people aren't being nice to them just like how it took Aqua forcing the actors to do better on Sweet Today for the general Audience to actually give the last episode a chance even though he couldnt fix the whole show it proved that had everyone just put in effort from the beginning and not just gone well its business that show wouldnt have been terrible and Abiko knows this better than anyone because she really loved her mentors work and couldnt stand to see it ruined hense forming her own actions on her own series getting adapted which shows that your own inaction can affect more than yourself, people watch and look up to you as well

Replies are gaslighting you, they hardly talked about the episode they just watched. I think they didn't have much to say for the episode so they filled their discussion time with filler and personal stories. They will certainly talk about the episode next week at least, or if they don't then they would be asking themselves where their 200k+ subscribers not watching their reaction to one of the most popular anime for this season.

They're discussing topics related to the ones brought up in the episode, kind of standard discussion given how the past discussions for Oshi no Ko S1 were. And they must have had a lot to say given that the video is 50+ minutes long. If people lose interest in what they have to say because of how long the video is, maybe they should do everyone a favor and leave

What, 6 or 7 years with very few if any breaks at all? Just about anyone would either slow down or tone the work down somehow. I guess they decided all the extra analysis and predictions and stuff were the most expendable parts of their content.
