Good idea on the mounting. If it’s for emergency use, I think soldering the wires and heat shrink would be a better idea than those plastic connectors.

@@jmeezy4050 I think more of what he is saying is these things are easier for some folks who dont want to tear into their engine. to install the kickstarter its not just simply putt out the plug and put it on. you gotta pull the water pump off case cover of unto power valve linkage etc. and some people dont want to tackle that. these other options while might not be as reliable as the ol kick starter its definitely going to save you the other 90% of the time

@@rusty78364 Sorry for the confusion. I was talking about my inability to post a link to Amazon to a much more cost efective solution that is also very impressive. Go and search Amazon for an RF controlled 12v relay. You will find one for about 17 dollars. It will mount right behind your number plate somewhere. All you do is wire it up in parallel to your start switch and your done. It comes with a tiny key faub that you can carry in your pack or attach anywhere on your bike. WIRELESS !

You can also keep a small set of alligator clips in your pack. Then you can jump the starter connector where it plugs in behind the tail light or just jump the relay. IF you have a knife you can just pull the switch off and cut the wires and short them to start it. Pretty easy to do. I would be more concerned with the starter being damaged or a battery going dead than I would ever because of damaging a start button. Be really cool if you just took the OEM one off all together and used that one.

What You did right there splicing into that blue wire that is not plug and play or water proof at all . That is one of the worst thing u could do is poke a hole there. It will go green and if it ends up failing both starter switches won’t work. No one splice in doing that just get a water proof cut connector and cut down a few before the plug or even better get a new terminal that goes into that plug and put a new pin in there feeding to that blue wire and have a spare one coming off. Don’t even poke holes in wires u will regret doing it when u have a to find a broken wire and have to look over the harness to find it

Wish there was a manufacturer that made LIGHTWEIGHT, emergency start only jump starters for these bikes. I would be okay with less capacity for lighter weight. I don't know if I ever kick started my Beta 300 the whole time I owned it. Also never knew that breaking a starter button was all that common but it must be if a backup product exists. Battery seems to be less of an issue on the smaller 2 strokes vs the big bore 4 strokes. The 430 has been a PITA in the cold.
