Yup. GSD was designated as an International Dark Sky Park. One of the darkest places in America with pretty much zero light pollution at a decently high elevation.

My son and I have hiked to high dune and star dune! We live in Colorado and try and make it to Sand dunes National Park at least once a year. We are planning on taking our horses this spring and riding the trail east of the dunes that goes to the base of the mountains there. When you get back to Colorado, look me up and we will get take you there horseback!

That would be amazing! Although we are on the other side of the world right now, Colorado will always be a place we return to. We will let you know!

Ive camped at this park! The dunes are masive and look like they go on forever once up on them! The tallest peaks of sand dunes is actually 1000ft elevation however the giant dunes all look about the same size once your up on them. The giant rocky mountains surrounding the dunes are almost 13000ft!

It was so hard trying to find the tallest dune! Crazy cool surrounding area. Colorado never disappoints!

What did y’all use for the Star time lapse?
@SOSASATSUNRISE3 жыл бұрын
Settings are never exact but we use the Rokinon 12mm f2.0 for any night time lapse, attached to our a6500. Very inexpensive lens and great for us who are just beginning to learn astrophotography.

@motomaniac-cw9vy2 жыл бұрын
@@JammyTom it would not. Sand dunes are driven on by motor vehicles all over the world lol. These don't even get used hardly
