I've always fudged my way through this track. Great to have an expert demonstration of how to play it properly. Awesome stuff. Thank you Doc for your dedication to accuracy and your willingness to freely share your knowledge.

I can't play it this way and sing it at the same time, but fun to solve Ian's puzzles.

these play-a-longs add context. I'm going to be doing more of these.

Same here. Also blending in some of the high e and b string notes (maybe a second guitar?) you hear on the studio version. Sounds pretty impressive when you get it just right.

Great! Thanks for uploading this video. (I use Transcribe in order to figure out guitar parts note-for-note).

can it do something as complicated as this?

When @StewartWood covered this he liked my comment---that it is Ian's "toy boy" song! (And 1 of my absolute favourites of his acoustic numbers.)

Thanks for slowing this down a bit. Your finger work is amazing for these complicated chord sequences. How Ian did the singing AND the acoustic guitar work at the same time in 1970 is incredible. Here’s a live example. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXecYZiCjdt_h9k

yes, I've heard that live performance! I partly used that to figure out the song. I find many of his tunes difficult to play and sing at the same time. My God is another that gives me fits.
@davidevans31753 жыл бұрын
How the HELL did you figure this out??
@snoozedoctor3 жыл бұрын
Patience and the gear icon in the lower right hand of the YT player that lets you slow down the track. That thing is my friend!
@davidevans31753 жыл бұрын
@@snoozedoctor In one of your earlier tutorials I suggested that you simply play the song top to bottom first for players more advanced players. Thank you so much for doing this, and slowing it down to 3/4 is brilliant.
@snoozedoctor3 жыл бұрын
@@davidevans3175 Yeah, it's a great idea. From now on I'm going to do this first and then the explanation if someone needs further help.
