Thank you Mick Fleetwood for honoring Peter Green. You are the only one that loved him enough to do this and your other project Mick Fleetwood And Friends. Rick Vito does him justice. You are a true friend and human being.

в этой песенке в оригинале всю гитару делал Danny Kirwan. Green придумал тему. но если мы обсуждаем гитаристов, то реплика мала-мала некорректна) это лучшая версия после Danny, а, может, лучшая ваще)

Imagine Peter Green, Rick Vito, and Bob Weston jamming out on this song back in the day.
@jeffreypaulross97673 ай бұрын
@@СветланаЛёзина-п6кNope, that’s not correct! When they recorded the song, Danny wasn’t even on it. Peter played ALL the lead parts on his Les Paul, as well as the rhythm parts on a Stratocaster tuned down a whole step.
@davidevans32272 ай бұрын
but they did play B.M.W. in concert i think? when Danny Kirwan was there.. like on the 'live at Boston/tea party/Cerulean' album??
@jeffreypaulross97672 ай бұрын
@@davidevans3227 I think I was clear when I said that I was talking about the initial recording of the song back in 1968. That’s the version that came out on the English Rose LP here in the states, and went to number 37 as a single on the British charts. And on that version, DANNY DID NOT PLAY‼️He may not have even been in the group at that point? Peter played all the guitar parts, both rhythm and lead. He played the lead parts on his Les Paul, but the rhythm parts were played on a Stratocaster tuned a whole step down. It doesn’t matter what they did on live recordings a couple of years later. Also, if you listen closely to Danny’s rhythm playing on the live versions of the song, you will notice that it sounds different than the rhythm on the studio version. Once again, that’s because Danny is playing it on a Les Paul in standard tuning, while Peter played it in the studio on a Stratocaster tuned a whole step down. You can actually hear it on that descending chord sequence at the end of each verse, where it ends on a first position minor chord whose shape sounds like an open Em chord. You would never be able to get that sound with standard tuning if the key of the song is D minor.

I agree but this is more Santana than Pete G. Bye the bye, Pete often said he preferred the Carlos version to his original blues. Don’t know the guitarist on this , he’s proficient but doesn’t have Petes expressive feel.

Don't understand some of these comments. So this guy is shit because he doesn't use exactly the same tone as PG? I think he does a magnificent job of playing with a lot of the old feeling in the beginning but making the guitar work his own later on. And it looks like Mick Fleetwood agrees with me if his body language and grin are anything to go by. A good hat tip to the original but original in its own right, and all the better for it. And yes, I do use a LP/Marshall setup on occasion and I love it. I'm surprised no one has said he should use a PRS/Boogie setup.

this was an original song that he shared with Santana it was called the english gypsy rose or something similar, written by peter green in 1968, rest his soul, before Santana changed its name... the sound is all theirs...mick and peter green are legends and always will be R.I.P. Peter... Thankyou for all you taught us about music and thank you for your deep soul. I had the privilege of meeting Peter at 14 years old in Richmond Surrey England and bought him a cake and he would talk with me every week about every subject and I learned a great deal, then as fate would have it I met Mick after performing at the Blues festival in Australia a few years ago and we travelled down to Melbourne where he played with his own band after finishing the Blues ...legendary thank you guys so blessed to have met you both on this journey of ours... happy trails Mick and keep up the gigs the world needs you more now than ever man....thank you thank you thank you Your AMAZING!
