Nice neat job and good video. Btw: perfectly OK for a competent DIY-er to do this work. As you're not 'adding a circuit' Part P permits this.

17:47 Clever buttons, those. One of them made a man instantly appear outside the window. lol 16:40 I've not tried this myself for a while, but apparently if you power up higher-power LED strips for too long on the reel, they can sometimes overheat? Obviously not a problem for 20-30 seconds quick test, though.

Another great video. And so funny. I won't forget to warm my conduit in future. 🤣Although I think you said cable rather than conduit. Have a listen back. Did you put three 2.5mm cables in the DB socket or did you split the ring up (one 2.5mm into each box) with another 2.5mm cable between to maintain the ring? I love your reasoning for the JB in the kitchen. Let's hope the home owners don't watch the video. 😊

I did say cable but I but conduit on the screen in writing if you look back, I always get my words mixed up 😂 I just spured off the ring, I would have had to join one side of the ring to get the cable to reach the fuse spur and the load is nothing so it’s fine. Thanks for watching as always!!

@@sotaelectrical No idea how Ring expect these products to be plugged in if you didn't cut the plug. Guess you'd need an external lockable socket. Or drill a massive hole. 🤷

Quick question: we did a big refurbishment a couple of years ago and house rewired. We’ve got a downstairs hall light that we can’t switch from the 1st floor landing. Having lived with it for a while we realise this is a mistake. Wondering if we can use these wireless switches to remedy?

An indoor plug on an outside camera that invalidates the warranty if you remove/replace it seems.... odd.

It’s a moulded plug, same as most appliances if you remove a moulded plug the warranty is void

@@sotaelectrical I was more getting at it being an outside camera with an indoor plug. In most cases you would have to remove the plug when installing outside. A deliberate ploy to rip off the buyer or incompetence at Amazon (who own Ring)?

Ring cameras are amazing I have a doorbell and an outside one for my flat and oh my god it's the best investment I ever made they are great value for money
