Well done! You hit the nail dead on the head, I was in quandary for the last week. Already looking into the Titan Kettle - that's now settled! Thanks!!

You can get the Soto, Titan and the Toaks 550 to nest very well. You need the sea to summit 2 litre 70 D dry bag. Put the kettle lid in the bottom with handle down. Toaks 550 in the kettle with the gas bottle and the stove across the top. Drop into the bag onto the lid and close. There is a slight high spot where the stove is but you can not really see it as it’s under the dry bag closure. Very neat option. The Windmaster is a kick ass stove.

Have you tried using Propane with the soto windmaster,,,??? Maybe you could do a endurance video,, showing what would eventually happen when using Propane,,, Joshua
@TubaSolotheHiker
@TubaSolotheHiker 3 жыл бұрын
I have never tried to use Propane. But my understanding is that backpacking stoves designed to work with isobutane, will not work properly with that type of fuel. Don't ask me about the mathematics and how all of that works, but the design is not primed for propane. At least the way I've always understood it.

Oh yeah...that Snow Peak 600 is an awesome piece of kit indeed. I suggest anyone wanting a "do all" cup to look into that one and the Snow Peak 700. Both are awesome! Take care my friend!

Thank you Shuping. Yeah I consulted with Hikin' Jim myself before I made this purchase. At the time I asked him the question of what he thought was the best overall stove; his answer was none other than the Soto Windmaster. That stove has been very kind to me. Good stuff indeed. Take care my friend!

Good stuff brother. I see you have a video of the GSI Soloist. That pot is flippin' the best thing ever. If i had to pick just one pot to use and I couldn't pick any other pot in the whole world I'd totally pick the GSI Soloist. I wish they made it in a short and squaty version. If they did that I don't think I'd ever need another pot. I've done full on meals in my GSI Soloist and even made scrambled eggs. All of it washed away clean without any fuss. Good stuff indeed!

The Soto Windmaster will nest along with a small canister inside of the Snow Peak Mini Solo 2.0 and you have a slim cook set that will fit on the outside bottle pockets of a pack. The larger pot is a 30oz pot and the smaller pot is 18oz capacity. The lid will fit both pots and snow peaks titanium mini fork will sit between the pots vertically without poking anything.

Great video! Any idea if this stove fits in an evernew solo cookset along with a 100g gas canister?

There is another drawback. You can lose the pot supports because it comes off the stove. That is the thing I don't like.. Of course one would keep them together but shit gets lost when not attached. But it's cool that you have two options for pot support.

Truth be told I just picked up the new version of the Amicus. Just haven't gotten a chance to do the unboxing video. But basically all the benefits of the Windmaster with attached legs. Good stuff!

Thanks Does the burner unscrew from the igniter/ regulator like some other stoves with zero damage or impact to any gaskets?

Hello Finn, sorry for the late reply. The burner does not unscrew from the shaft unfortunately. Take care my friend.

Where do you put the lid you use for the SP 600 cook kit? That is a way around it. Seems like the windmaster is a good stove and perhaps worth the little bit of extra bulk over some other stoves.
@TubaSolotheHiker
@TubaSolotheHiker 5 жыл бұрын
Hello Flashman. I currently do not use the lid for the SP600. The only "lid" per se would be the bottom of the canister once I drop the canister top down into the cup. But despite that I will certainly agree with you that the Soto Windmaster is certainly worth the hassle (if you can even call it that..LOL). It really is a cut above all other canister stoves that I've used.

Does this work with the 4Flex attached to the stove or does that need to be nested separately?

tried it a few minutes ago with my titan kettle and a MSR isopro canister (110gr). Doesn't fit as good as your canister, as I can't close properly the lid of the kettle. The MSR canister has a maximum diameter of 9cm on the base, which seems more important than the gigapower on your video. Could you measure yours? Thanks!

I have no idea why Soto made the "stem" of the gas burner that long tbh, heat dissipation?.
