Northwest Passage is an incredible next step here. It’s their version of a Canadian folk song that is basically considered to be Canada’s unofficial national anthem. That, and their video was heavily influenced by Rick and Morty, by their own admission.

I always love it when I see someone react to this song; UTA is so good, it's always fun to watch the journey people go on with it. You mentioned the songwriting - it's extremely good, yes, and gets even better when you consider that this album and the next one, Abyss are a pair and tell a really solid story across them. In addition to the jaw-dropping musical performance, listening to those albums back to back tells you an incredible sci-fi/fantasy (it has elements of both in the setting) tale with actual character progression, a redemption arc, and the struggle against an incredibly nasty villain. Oh, also: Andrew (the red-haired guitarist) can also sing, and you hear some of that from him at various points. Really nice clean male vocals. It's just stacked layers of awesome. And ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT (and unsurprising, given they're Canadian) they're known, as a band, for being really nice people.

My next picks are 3 songs: 1) Karaoke cover of Queen of the Reich by Queensryche. Yes, you read that right: After their European tour, in 2017, Brittney and the band went to a karaoke bar in Edinburgh, Scotland -- where, despite a crappy phone recording, Brittney "slayed" an '80s song that is difficult for a guy to sing. That first note _still_ gives me chills! And, because of that video, Brittney got to work with Arjen Lucassen, a prog songwriter, on his Star-One album, in the song Fate of Man, that is a song about the Terminator sci-fi universe. 2) Tonight We Ride. This is the song you should react to, if you want to hear Brittney hit an A5 like she's ordering coffee. 3) Finally, Abyss. This song, while shorter, showcases Brittney in her vocality so well! And in this one, she grabs you sonically, and doesn't let up, as her and the band get pulled through a black hole in space. 4) Honorable mention: UtA's current magnum opus, The Wind That Shapes The Land. While no music video exists for this one, it is well worth the listen. Basically, imagine a power metal song colliding with the Matrix movies, in the final battle between Neo and Smith. That is how epic The Wind That Shapes The Land is!

I can already tell that all the usual requests will be below, including Tonight We Ride, North West Passage, Abyss, and a few others, but if you really want to see how good Britney really is, check her out singing La Traviata-Brindisi (The Drinking Song) with Fang VonWrathenstien (Ty Christian) from Lords of the Trident. I saw another reaction video for this a couple of years ago and was instantly sold. Then I found out that this is the opening track of a concept album called Abyss telling a story of The Immortal and that the follow up album Abyss had just been released. So I avoided listening to any more songs from those albums until I had them both on vinyl and could sit down and listen to them back to back with a glass of nice rum in one hand and the lyrics sheet in the other... Finally how I longed for this... Brittney Slayes sung Alto for many years in a choir. So she has the bottom end. But then she has incredible highs also. This is not showing so much in this song tho. But I would suggest you listen to Tonight we ride... That is just insane.. But they have many awsome songs. I belive if I am not mistaken that she and the drummer newly had a baby. And that a new record is comming so. (If anyone know better please correct me..) Everyone of their album has a theme and a story. She is also a big fantasy fan. The whole band role plays Dungeons and Dragons. And she is writing on a fantasy book. Just as Floor from Nighwish the most impressive thing is that she does this thru long concerts with every song is very tough. So stammina is incredible too. For me I would classify this music as power metal. In the same category as BattleBeast, Love Bites for an example...Both of them with female front singers too. Love bites whole group female... You have many "Rabbitholes" to walk down. With wonderful female led metal... Love from Stockholm Sweden/ J

@@SoulSingerDiscovers Thankyou for your reply. A tip... When you do love bites. Use captions . In almost all their KZbin videos there are good caption translations. She sings in english but have a bit fun pronunciation. (They are from Japan you know)... Its an amazing ride to explore them. Such amazing musicianship in the whole band. The front singer is from the beginning a ballerina. One of the guitarist are a classical piano virtuoso. She started play guitar at 18 and now also a phenomenon an it too. They have a extraordinary drummer. That little little hobit Haruna (only 4'9) is called among other nicknames "The big little Big Engine, pocket nuclear reactor..." And other names (with love so to say)... Midori (the other lead guitarist, both are lead in this band) Is also competing in "Fitness" But is also she absolutely jaw dropping guitarist... On their latest work and album they have a new basist . Fami... Who also ( offcourse) is totally amazing... I could say more but maybe I comment more when you release. In comments. As you understand I love this band. The front singer has a voice a bit like Brittney Slayes.. What also seem to be a alto voice "with benefits".. Haha sry Im getting rambling... IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die

Being classically trained, Britany has a great voice (and, yes, she most definitely has a yummy 'bottom end!'). If you, really, want to hear her vulva-breaking high notes, listen to Tonight We Ride. (Plus, the video is done Mad Max style.) For me, I much more prefer Huntress. Their founder/singer, Jill Janus, is a classically trained, Soprano Coloratura who can death-growl most men into the ground, and they have a more classic, 80s Thrash Metal sound, but with more modern techniques. Their song 8 of Swords, really, shows-off her vocal range. Finally, have you - ever - considered comedy? Seriously, some of your stuff is great. You're one of the few reaction artists who do this, and who does it well. Another great reaction, Ms. Melisa! Best! J

If you want to hear a female voice that can go really low then you should react to Nina Hagen - Seemann (Rammstein cover). Nina is the godmother of german punk rock but has a classical training and her range is on the upper end of ranges. She also is the mother of actress Cosima Shiva Hagen.

UTA is great, Brittney is amazing. I'm going to recommend Tonight we Ride like everybody else, but there are some other gems out there like "Brittney Slayes - Queen of the Reich Karaoke - Edinburgh" kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGmTdYWnpKysgtk or "BRITTNEY SLAYES sings OPERA!? "Brindisi" | Power Metal Opera Battles #4" kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqnFYXqMbrV6opY (singing starts about 2 minutes, this is the only one with Brittney but the others are good as well). There is also an interview with The Charismatic Voice if you want more information about her "Unleash The Archers: Tea Time Interview with Brittney Slayes and Elizabeth Zharoff" kzbin.info/www/bejne/mH-5mZaghpqKhKM

Fabulous reaction and commentary. I love how you present yourself on-screen. I suspect you're the kind of person who would make even brunch enjoyable. Now, you will probably be bombarded with requests for Tonight We Ride, but I urge you to resist. It's a great song, but only showcases Brittney's high notes. If you want to want to discover more of the richness and, huh, girth of her voice, I suggest looking instead at Acoustipex or The Wind that Shapes the Land. The former has the advantage of having a fun video.

UTA is power metal, which can be considered a "super charged" version of classic metal inspired by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Dio. Essentially, power metal combined the melody of classic metal with the faster and more aggressive rhythmic attack of thrash (Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer). Though it's not a must, most power metal also deals with fantasy themes. Power metal itself goes back to the late 80s with the German band Helloween and their Keeper of the Seven Keys albums, and it's a genre that's still going strong today. If you want to try more power metal with great vocals, Blind Guardian is a must, and their Mirror Mirror is a great intro song.

I love Unleash the Archers and am down for any further reactions, BUT you said you'd like to see more variety from women singing in metal so I thought id suggest Battle Beast! Battle Beast is a metal band from Finland. They've had a sort of 80s sound to their music but I feel like they've been experimenting more recently. I suggest the live version of "where angels fear to fly" that they streamed from their own studio last September.

They're not really symphonic metal though - no keyboards or symphonic arrangements. More straight-ahead trad or power metal, with hints of melodic death metal in there.

To me, this seriously gives me Iron Maiden-ish vibes if they were formed in the 2000's+, and of course instead of a male frontman, they had a female singer.

This is so classical heavy/power metal in so many ways. Back in my days this was called Speed metal, as i think its gone to be power metal today. But never the less this is really good. And her voice is amazing. If you like high pitch singers. Then i can recomend: LOST HORIZON - Highlander (the one). Unfortunetly there is no quality live recorings of that song, Only the album version.

I am soooooo fucking over all the cookie monster vocals that have PLAGUED metal for almost 3 decades now, although Tatiana w Jinjer has joyfully melted my face more times than I can count now. I NEED melody and power as well as a damn good song! Tonight We Ride will make your jaw drop when you experience the full throated onslaught of Britney fully unleashing her staggering power!
