I just want to hug Frank Ocean and thank him for helping me with everything in life. You can listen to his songs at the gym, at work, at school, going through a break up, or getting a car wash. I listen to his songs everyday, and I can honestly say that he is still super underrated, and forever will be the greatest of all time to me. Thank you Frank, you helped me find myself when I lost myself for a while. Thank you, I'm still waiting for your album and your concert.

Same I used to absolutely love channel orange and even more than blonde but then after a while orange got a little old and blonde I could keep on listening to over and over because I'd discover new things in instrumentation, lyrics, or just how beautiful and unique it is. Like I said I'd rate them nostalgia ultra > channel orange > endless > blonde, in the order they were released. I still love all of them but like blonde is probably in my top 5 albums

@TaktikalAttention
@TaktikalAttention 5 жыл бұрын
La Murda not even just black artists, every artist can be controlled and fucked, even white artists like Billie Eillish are being controlled. And no I’m not white and I’m not trying to include white people in the discussion just cause, I just think that if even whites are being controlled in this industry, imagine us minorities. It’s hard for everyone in it, but we gotta fight for our freedom as artists.

There’s something special about Frank’s Music- it’s called honesty. Regardless of what subject he’s singing about you can really feel his pain, his struggle as well as his happiness... every song takes you to a new place. His music is almost cinematic, you’re not just listening, you’re actually watching scenes play out in your head even if the song has no music video. That’s art! That’s beauty! Then I listened to all of Lonny Breaux and Nostalgia, Ultra, many songs from this mix tapes I still listen to this day. I loveeee Channel Orange and his letter revealing his first love was a man, it was a vulnerable moment but an iconic one for a male in the hip hop industry. It took me a while to like Blonde, definitely a slow burner for me. But I love Frank a lot even though there's a lot hidden. Novacaine was a hit! Because of KZbin when that song came out I was able to explore more about Frank Ocean. Remind you nobody knew who he was at that time. My first eargasm was thinking of you and bad Religion and we all try. It was different and special and I was trying my hardest to put people on Frank Ocean then one day I was at the store a teenage was like have you heard that new song to her friends and started singing " A tornado flew around my room before you came..." I literally died on the inside because it was like my best friend or a personal poem I wrote to a crush is being heard for the first time! I cried because people are getting to know this Angel. He is so special! Frank can put a album out every 4 years and it would be just as good as the rest! Sorry! I just love him so much

Ocean is such a rare artist. Been seeing a lot of people calling him "overrated" and judging him and artists more generally for not putting out more music. This in itself shows how much people think of artists/music as a commodity that is created to consume and exhaust at a fast pace. People don't consider how much is encapsulated in good music and how special one single/album can be.

Frank Ocean turned up when the music scene of especially pop was more superficial and vague. He propelled a cultural shift of music that people could not only relate to but, be transported into another universe due to his lyrical mastery. Definitely an inspiration and musical icon. Channel Orange is one of the all time greatest albums of the past decade.

before people listen to the Lonny Breaux Collection, realise that he made it before he found his voice. A lot of the songs are just pop music, stuff to get him recognised.
