I love how they both speak very highly of eachother. Knowing how this all industry is, there could have easily been a big rivalry that lead them to hating eachother out of jealousy.

@Marguerite D'arcy There are 18 core personality types and dozens of shades of each. Some peoples core makeup includes jealousy and hate as a way to "motivate" themselves. Others dont' feel hate and jealousy at all and instead are filled with inspiration and barrels of confidence to chase their vision. Everyone is different. It's for us to learn the people around us and accept them for who they are. People navigate life differently.

I think we can all agree to that but truly his ego has consumed him. I don't think it is a healthy nor smart practice for people to idolize celebrities, and it seems like all he wants is to become an immortalized icon. Separate art from artist. Just my opinion though don't crucify me youtube.

leftfordead I would argue that his ego gave him the audacity to do these great things. I don’t see any man who’s actively manipulating the world as he sees it without a huge ego. You see the Kobe Bryant’s of the world and Kanye Wests of the world they were able to achieve success and push boundaries because of their audacious personalities

Wow I didn't know this story at all. When Kanye went to paris fashion show I remember how he was made fun of on all the top fashion blogs. Virgil is right, now seeing rappers at fashion shows is normal. Even seeing NBA stars dressing in high fashion is. He really pioneered a new era in black fashion and doesnt get the credit he deserves.

I didn’t want to just type a comment related to Virgil Abloh and his sudden passing but this is the only alternative I have , Virgil wherever you are you will be missed, the art you created will forever live long and you have set the bar very high for an entire generation of creatives. it’s hard to say a lot, if you see my moms in heaven please give her a hug for me. You pulled that out of your ass just admit you’re wrong sometimes. Kanye’s name alone elevates those around him. He his a talented designer and a smart business owner. Both of them coming from a different background with different ideas that met and realized that they were the dynamic duo of fashion. As time past that duo grew to be more dynamic and notable fir both Ye and Virgil. Then Kanye signs with Adidas while Virgil works on his own projects. Kanye gets close to getting reaching his endgame goal, but it never happened and Virgil gets it instead. Yet when it’s at its most likely point where that bond is broken. Virgil invites Kanye to his first show and that embrace signified much more than a simple friendship, but in that Virgil didn’t “make it” but that they both made it. Now while Virgil leads Louis Vuitton and the fashion scene, Kanye now leads the street wear scene, fitting. This story is much more than just a storyline but an inspiration and a success story of how they finally “made it” in each of their own ambitions, great story with an equally as great video.

Kanye didn’t want that job, and have his dream jobs now, he worked with Louis Vuitton. Kanye wanted an actual clothing line which is why he went to adidas.

Virgil is a true talent but I wish he saw how the industry tried to pit him and Kanye against each other. I love that they were able to remain friends. I truly hope Kanye gets to the top of the fashion industry. I truly feel he deserves it.
