This was my introduction to Angelina Jordan back in the spring of 2020 - the pandemic was just starting and I was looking for a distraction on KZbin. Boy did I find one! I've been hooked on her ever since.

Yellow Brick Road: Simon stated this is a performance he will never forget for the rest of his life. Angelina has had this ability since she was 7 years old, she has been refining it since then, and now there no one else to compare her to. If you had watched the end of the video, you would have heard Simon, who is so critical, and can be so nasty, say; "this is a performance that I will remember forever". Simon would have loved to be in control of Angelina's career.

I always feel like this was and is too good for AGT, it is better than many Grammy performances, more memorable, there is really no commentary needed or judging appropriate to say when an artist does something like this, it is a gem, ❤🎤🎹🥇

Great reaction. She has the same effect on me as well. Yes, her vocal is beyond compare, but I think what is even more powerful about her interpretations of covers, and her original songs, is her ability to reach into your soul.

I have no words for this, she’s insanely good. She’s 13! How she didn’t win America’s got talent I’ll never know, but what does it say about this competition? I’ve always loved this song, but she just brought it to another level. I wonder what Elton thought of this version? This and Bohemian Rhapsody are my two Angelina favourites.💕

Nobody says anything about that giggle at the end of her performance I thought was so cute and just re affirming herself that she did phenomenal. Love all the color changes she used that shows her uniqueness and as you call the "lullaby" breathy tone and her vibrato which are signature to her. Love your reaction as usual Adrianna.

Allegedly, after her initial rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Simon had approached AJ and family and told them that clearly she would win but she needed to sign an exclusive contract with his company, in other words, he was going to own her. And during this performance she gave him her answer. Notice the dramatic change in Simon’s face, the moment he realized what she was doing. This is perhaps the greatest, most elegant diss in history. As an extra icing on the cake, during the middle of the song, when she begins belting, she opens up her arms, displaying the painting on her T-shirt, a portrait of her, around the age of 7 or 8, meaning she was going to remain faithful to her dreams as a little girl, of going after the Musical Masters (Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, etc.) as such, she cannot be owned by anyone. Hence, I believe by the time she ends her incredible career, she will end up as the first female Musical Master. And this is all happening during our lifetime… what a blessing!

It's quite interesting that you compared her tone in this one to the one in "Bohemian Rhapsody". I have never heard anyone say that before but you are totally right I think. It's such a shame that the only way to make it to the final rounds is to sign a contract with a predetermined label. Angelina even turned down Disney following her AGT Champions performances. Instead, Angelina waited and selected a label that shared her vision for her music. At 14, Angelina Jordan Astar signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her total artistic control as well as the control over her release timing. Republic and Angelina are truly the real winners.
