I’ve just made the big step towards Universal Audio with one Apollo X8 thunderbold 3 with one UAD-2 Satellite thunderbold 3. I’m just starting with a AMPEX® ATR-102 MASTERING TAPE RECORDER and only that blow my head of ! After that the Minimoog in Luna sounds better than I’ve ever heard and played, the playability is unbelievable good. I’ve placed it inside Ocean Way Studios with tapesaturation and Lexicon® 480L Digital Effects System. Honestly to never come back from that trip ! This all on a 16 inch Macbook Pro (2019) with 64 Gig ♈️ RAM ! This is it ! 🙏😎✅👍🏻✌🏻. Must say there was preset 1 from the Arturia Polybrute involved, only a Dm7 on hold, to get two hands on the Minimoog freak Lead controlled by NI Kontrol S61 MK II.

Nice to see proper RMS-balanced A/B comparisons so that we can really hear the difference, as opposed to slightly bumped up volume levels when enabled like all the other manufacturers do. UAD do it RIGHT every time!!!

Maybe It's my headphones, but in almost every instance when the sound was enabled the stereo field felt like it shrank up and became more mono. I can hear the saturation in the upper mids, but didn't do me as many favors as I was hoping. Anyone else experience this? Do I just need new headphones?

Is that cold war kids? If so then props. I cant hear the difference between enabled and bypass. I've been using the api vision channel strip plugin prior to this release. Idk what this bundle has. Preamp? For guitar? I'll try it. Background noise reduction for vocals? I'll have to get a good mic first lol

When you select API Summing (or Neve), you'll notice that the fader taper changes as does the pan law on channels that are feeding that bus or main out.

hello, I got the apollo twin x and yesterday bought the C suite C vox plugin after seeing how well it eliminates noise with atten. but what exactly does the ambience button do?

From the manual: Ambience This determines how C-Vox responds to genuine ambience in the incoming signal. At low values, the process creates a drier output. Be careful with this, because over-processing may result in an output that sounds gated. At high values, this allows more genuine ambience to pass. But again be careful; too high a value may make it difficult to achieve the desired attenuation of the noise or the room tone.

Sounds incredible. The Luna API bundle is tempting so I can save on DSP when mixing, but I can't see myself getting away from inserts and I tend to only sprinkle in API Vision (now legacy) in here and there.

What I’ve found using this is speed in the workflow as you can see it all in front of you (the whole idea). As I’ve been using it I’m trying to focus on seeing how far I can with just these and then add my inserts that I feel are still needed and not just using stuff cause I’m comfortable with it.

@@MusicByDarcy makes sense. I’m looking forward to a Neve 80 console or maybe 88RS for modern mixes. I’m also going to hold off on buying a satellite since LUNA is working so well with its native integration.

@@JonManness I recently got an Octo, but also running an iMac 2012 and even though it’s a beast CPU poor; but I also wanted the free plugins and to use more of the DSP expensive ones! I find the API clean and works with what I do which is mostly hip hop / R&B.

Newly added noise reduction plugin? I have the api vision channel strip , is it any different ? I could use noise reduction. The marshal and fender have no thresholds otherwise. Stupid humming and buzzing unlike the friedman amps.

@@kyleabent not gate , it is 3rd party live noise/room reduction provided by c suite audio based on CEDAR noise reduction but it is toooo expensive
