if the purpose of the green glue is to increase the rigidity of the double layer of drywall, would it be interesting to insert a layer ( even relatively thin ) of closed cell extruded foam in between the 2 layers of drywall as, if I remember correctly the rigidity increses as the 4th power of the distance between the "skins" of a sandwich?

Hey Frederic. I didn't know anything about the closed cell foam. But that makes sense. Our studios have a a dense rubber membrane (about 1/8") between the two layers of drywall, and I have seen some types of rolled lead or something used in that fashion as well.
