Just to clarify, as it seems some people missed the joke, the guy playing piano was Andrew from Arcane Roots, as we thought fans would notice him walk past in the background! Sorry to those who missed that and thought we were being dicks hahahah

After becoming a fan after seeing this video. I noticed watching it again how much it sounded like an arcane roots song on the piano. Then saw Andrew walk by :P

Awesome ! I have a crush with this band. In the vein of Dead Letter Circus, or Butterfly Effect. I didn't noticed Andrew playing piano, behind, the first time but then I recognized Curtains. The first song I heard from them. And the magic happend !

3:56 The pianist is playing the chords to 'Curtains' which is Arcane Roots new single - released in December 5th 2016. This video was released more than a month before that. Was it Andrew Groves on the keyboard giving us a preview of the new single???? That's pretty cool for a cheeky teaser

Do a slide guitar player, i think it would be cool to also incorporate buying a slide into the budget, finding the exact slide for the payer's tone. I suggest doing Duane Allman, imo the greatest slide player of all time. Duane's tone could be hard to achieve as alot of it came from the hands, but i recommend either a fender or marshall amplifier, use a 59 style pickup les paul or an sg, and for the slide use a glass coriciden bottle style slide. He used real coriciden bottles, but dunlop makes some that do the job, the derek trucks signature is basically exactly what you would need.

Having the guitarist on the show is a great idea, but maybe have them demonstrate the gear while talking about it to break up the solid blocks of conversation, usually you guys would work your way through building the sound, "this + this sounds like this" sort of thing, and let the artist tinker around to find the sound they like. Wonder what other guitarists you can get a hold of :P.

Hi guys. I love your show and had run out of your sounds like episodes of bands I know (most of your shows I had listened to more than once!), so I clicked on this episode. I was not disappointed. Like your guest, I am an avid follower of your show and, in particular, Rabea is a huge influence on my playing and you have both been inspirational over the last year or so since I have known about you. Much love x

Wollace Menjao I know the difference. Rise Against is mainly in Eb standard while RATM is in drop D. If you want to go with vocalists, RATM uses a style of rap while Rise Against has singing that is similar to Nirvana.

Excellent work guys - Saw Arcane Roots support 5 Finger Death Punch last year.. to be honest, I'd never heard of them before. I was MEGA impressed being an old progster! Between them and Skindred they saved the night as 5FDP were not on form. So thanks to the boys for doing this. John had a signature Ibanez that was the Ibanez JPM but he now used Musicman, you can either go classic John Petrucci and get an ibanez RG of some sort or Modern John Petrucci and get a Sterling Musicman JP, he uses Mesa Boogie amplifiers so if you can't afford both the guitar and a Mesa amp then a marshall DSL40 should work, and i know John uses the od Wah pedal sometimes so a standard Dunlop Cry baby will work

My favourite band ever, love it! Great that you got Andrew in too, when he walked in during sacred shapes I nearly jumped out my seat! Guessing that was him on the piano earlier in the video too
