@@scoobers90 Yeah seems like a logical explaination. Between Dorje and Toskas touring and other stuff that Bea and Matt do, they find small gaps where they film 3-4 vids like this. That would mean that we should get shitloads of vids from march during the rest of the spring and summer, due to all concerts etc being postponed and shut down!

TheGuitarCorner like the other guys said, much more productive and cost effective to film a few in a day or 2. Almost 5 months since Black Friday though, didn’t think they’d film them that far in advance though. This must be near the end of that production block.

If you want a challenge, do Starflyer 59. On their second album, Gold, they recorded each guitar part 3 times, once with a bass tone, once with a mid tone, once with a treble tone, doubled each track, and stacked all six guitar tracks together on both guitar parts. I challenge you to recreate that sound live. The guitarist used a Gibson Les Paul Studio into a EHX Big Muff, Boss DS-1, Boss Tremolo, Boss Flanger, and a Fender '59 Bassman. Good luck. Though on the 1st album and 1st EP, Silver and She's The Queen, he used a Fender Jaguar.

Here in 2024! I gradually I grew out of emo etc. to indie, funk and now country; playing with my beloved tele for everything. But that "born in 1991" in me has caught the bug again. Literally watching this to decide which guitar would get me back to playing the stuff I grew up on! Haven't touched a Gibson/Epiphone in years but especially now its inspiring to see how the brand has evolved. How the times roll around - BRING BACK EMO

Jim used les pauls back in the day but now has a signature telecaster with P90's but it's a bit expensive but they could go double p90 les paul, he uses axe effects so probably go with a blackstar ID or HT series and maybe a multi fx processor of sorts like TC Electronic Plethora, as you'll need reverb, delay, fuzz and octave probably for Tom he uses SG's and Orange amplifiers so it's just as straightforward as SG and Orange Combo

Its basically this video too. Use a tele and not a les paul. Orange, vox, or marshall will do the trick.

Firstly I want to say that I I absolutely love this video series ! Good job guys! You have done some artists without busting and by busting the bank. Could you revisit those and do middle of the road videos? What I mean is if you have the £1500 rig where to spend next? What upgrades are worth of the money and so on? Other option is to make videos where you have more than £1500 but money is still an object. Where is the sweet spot between the best possible gear and budget gear? Could you also do ultimate living room rig without busting and by busting the bank. There is a limit how much noise you can make but it should still sound nice.

I've been a huge MCR fan for going on 16 years. I'll say, their tone isn't hard to match... but what is hard, is the two styles that Ray and Frank play with work together in such a weird way, that's what gives them their sound. That said, you got damn close without busting.
@steverodgers1979
@steverodgers1979 Жыл бұрын
They do go together so well !! One kind of odd thing about playing MCR songs though, and it's cool, but Frank, as rhythm, is actually the more prominent sound whereas Ray, as the supposed lead, is usually hidden behind Frank's octaves....which I love the sound of. So, other than the solos, I usually play Frank's part, but still some Ray because I am only one person and you still need the full sound coming through 🙂🤘
