I think people often forget that and just remember Justin's silly outfits, campy falsetto singing and the sometimes silly lyrics. For all that, they were still (and are) a kick-ass rock band.

That sounds amazing. The Darkness should be the biggest rock band in the world. Their recent output is just as quality as they’ve ever released. Such a consistent display of balls out rock, musicianship and songwriting.

I've seen the Darkness 5 times and the tone is always fantastic. Deafeningly loud, but also crystal clear. Side note, I think Justin was using a Dual Rectifier at the time of Permission to Land. Fairly certain when I saw them in 2015 it was Marshall and Wizard. In 2018 I think it was Marshall for both guys. Think, as Matt said, they have been adding Friedman to the mix lately.

Thank you. Love sounds like, love the Darkness but more than anything I love the sound of a Gibson into Marshall. There is nothing in tonal heaven quite like it.

Until you hear a Fender into a Marshall or a PRS into a Mesa! PRS and Mesa is a match made in heaven. You can literally take any PRS off the shelf, plug it into a Rectifier or Mark V and it’s always perfect!

It blew my mind but apparently he played Motorcycle Emptiness on Richie's thinline tele. There's a video on YT with him discussing the song and playing it on the tele. Agree tho, the White Les Paul he plays is a monster, Holy Bible sound as well..

I think that lead tone/ rhythm tone on permission to land etc is one of the most beautiful lead tones ever heard especially the chunky thick rhythm part on love is only a feeling

Just a thought could the Andertons guitar sound like do a cross-over with the drums dep and do a whole band soundalike? I reckon that would be mad. It could give much more context to the riffs and you can hear how close everything is to the actual song. Anyway love your work guys

I think not having a custom (or at least not taking a guitar with the 498T in the bridge) makes a huge difference here. That pickup has a very different character to my ear and feels very different to play than say burstbuckers, custombuckers, etc.

Love these sound like vids guys, thanks so much for doing them. Even if I may not necessarily want to sound like whichever artist you're emulating, it is still very useful in terms of equipment. I learn a lot about all types of equipment I may not be familiar with or may not have ever used or heard before. Amps, pedals, guitars etc. So even if you don't want to sound like a particular artist, you still learn something! I'd like to make a sound like request.. Tony Rombola/Godsmack. @@danielparker-hales245 ? they said they wanted to run high-head room (so 100 watts) through an attenuator to bring the volume down..Then they switched gears and went with the jubilee 20watt and said that would probably work better as they'd have to attenuate less to run it wide open at a reasonable volume...seems above board to me? :)
