I can help you a little bit, roger likes to bark his hi hat when he hits the snare, giving it a but more punch. It’s kinda confusing but once you get it down it sounds really good.

@@LylaTheLich you can still get big sound out of a 2 up 2 down stock kit, tuning is key, but you have to remember their tunes were first played in basements... But he revolutionized the sound of the band as they grew to arena level shows and is one of the most technically talented drummers of the modern era and was a sound guys dream bc he was a sound guy for years... Maybe an increased budget would help, but hey, no china

@@frenchbreadboi on a budget would be tough, two up, two down, small high snare as main, have a regular sized snare tuned phat as a side snare, could get away with single pedal, two crashes, ride, he was a paragon sabian guy but the xs20s arent too far off the recorded sound, no china... Coated tom heads can round out the tonality and depth of smaller toms to get the big tom sound he had

Ride is definitely wrong. Way too washy. 22" Ping Ride would be the closest to what he would use. Hi-Hat is also wrong, mastersounds are not his sound. Snare sound is too shallow. Need at least a 6.5" deep snare. Other than that, seems ok. I am a tough critic.
