I'm retired now after 50 years of working, driving back and forth to work was the worst and most dreaded part of the workday. I now find I can go without driving for weeks at a time and it is glorious. I last filled my gas tank in December 2022 and still have half a tank. Loving it!!
@OriginalPiMan Жыл бұрын
Might get to the point where it's been in the tank so long that it has degraded a little. It's a continual process over months or years. I know I drove so rarely during the pandemic that my car needed a new 12v battery because it had died from disuse.

The people claiming that the trip to work is in any way useful are mostly people who own office buildings and would like to not miss their mortgage payments, when a sensible person would be poking their zoning boards so that they can get to refitting some of those spaces as decent housing and maybe unfuck the lack of affordable places to live.

On the other hand , I live and work in a suburban area , and I enjoy my sports cars and bikes . It’s 9 minutes to work if I get all green lights So I do actually find the drive to work useful , I’ll often get up 45 min earlier on days when the weather is nice in the summer so I can take the gixxer, do the scenic route and stop at the family owned gas station a little outta the way but has the best breakfast sandwiches Or in the winter , after a snowstorm and before the plows are out i like to leave a bit early and take the STI out for a rip and just spend 30 mins pretending I’m ken block in roundabouts and backroads 😊 I do think their are many of us who enjoy that time away from our family and work , to just enjoy ourselves
