It's been said in a number of different places that Paul Simon himself absolutely loves this version of his classic and iconic song, so I think that says everything. David Draiman's voice is absolutely wonderful, strong and powerful whilst at the same time being soft and emotional., and of course backed up by some amazing musicians. When you see how many people have already viewed the original video, you see just how popular this particular version is around the world.

@@stanzaloan3454 the original stuck a chord in those who recognized the disconnection of people and the separation of generations ideals and our desire for peace and communication. I just discovered your channel. I love reaction channels but yours hit me today because it brought back memories of my mom that passed away in 2017. You remind me if her. She loved music of all kinds. And was always willing to give a chance to songs that I would suggest to her. She was also a musician. Played piano for as long as I remember and even had a band with my stepdad, who passed not long before her, and I even played with them sometimes. I remember showing her this version of sound of silence not long before she passed. She loved it of course. She was of course a fan of Simon and Garfunkel and introduced me to so many groups as I was growing up. I'm 50 now. Still miss her every day. Everytime I watch channels like this I still think to myself, I need to show my mom this. Then realize I can never do that again. Sorry for the long comment, but it just reminded me if her seeing your reactions to all kinds of music. And she loved wine too. Lol. Thank you for your content it's great. Keep going. Music keeps me going. I lost my disabled son in August. He was only 28. He loved music too. And I just hope he's up there with my mom watching over me and my 2 daughters and grandkids that she only got to meet one of. Sorry again for the book I just wrote. But just felt I needed to write to you. Hope you read this. And thank you. Keep it up. Much love! ❤️

I would agree, Great reaction Cash! The black & white aspect spoke volumes about the actual meaning of this classic song! Telling a very visual story, Near the end of the video you were trying to make out all the people in the background, The Musician's on one side of the water & The song writer's on the other side, Showing the division of what the song is actually about But then at the end the big ship arrives & is what Brought the musician's & song writer's together as one! I'm old enough that Paul & Art's version really is the one as many other's have covered the song but No one has done a decent cover of the song, Til now Disturbed not only brought this classic back but made you experience the true meaning of the song While David sang his heart out! The man can sing... Very cool that you enjoyed this cover & Also happy that you did... Kevin

Not sure if you realize but David Draimon is the lead singer to a heavy metal band. The lyrics really came coo life more than Simon and Garfunkel. David illustrated how we speak but not talk listen but not hear. Isn’t this true about society today? Lastly, musicians are on one side, the masses on the other. But alas, music brings us together

Hi Cash, this is one I have seen on another reaction channel (that may contain the words 'Son', 'Father', and 'and') and I said I was getting Viking vibes but found out from computer they were from Chicago. The song I know is an old classic from 1964, not one of my favourites but I liked what Disturbed did with it. Disturbed had previously done a cover of the Genesis song Land Of Confusion, so I would recommend either version of that song as a reaction because both official videos are very interesting, maybe even a double header reaction if you're up for it? I usually check UK chart stats for these things and Sound Of Silence did okay, it reached #29 in 2016. Land Of Confusion was not so successful at #79 in 2006, Genesis did better at #14 in 1986. Another half glass for me, cheers.

Now, do us a favour (favor), watch the Conan live version, it is even better then the studio recording, oh and apparently he was sick with a flu, but still sang live. It's also said that the sound techs used a bit of auto tune on him, and when heard it [found out], he went off at them as he sang it as it should be. Perhaps you remember the True meaning...Back in the 60's...was a time of War, Discrimination, Racism, blatant fundamental Civil Rights deprivations. One could NOT speak out without major consequences (like being threatened of your life for speaking out.) Comedians could get away with it in sarcasm, and through music, the "messages" could not be stopped...In that time communication was very bleak with only fuzzy radio, and fuzzy tv...that's it...So when musicians (Bands) became very popular/famous and millions would hear...They became powerful and a serious threat as influential to the masses to change, by demanding equality, freedom, revealing hypocritical religions (neon God they made) etc...The population always knew music's truth...but remained silent out of fear, of retaliation, disfranchisement, so no one dared (other than fans stereotyped as hippies and Blacks that did protest and riot against the establishment for change)...Musicians (bands) were always broken up due to their mass influence, through suspected mysterious ways, from death of a featured performer, to plane crashes, overdoses etc..by breaking them up in ways equal to that of "looking like an accident"...The biggest protest amongst humanity, (in that time mind you) was the technology of people talking without speaking, and hearing without listening (the seeds planted as you slept...but one's eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light that split the night...(and your life)... removing the true sounds of silence, considered free will...People were sent to nut farms and destroyed for voicing aloud of so...Although it does fit differently today with texting...The writing on subway walls was like tenement halls in that time, it was very much like bumper stickers, or hallmark sayings...with lots of WISDOM and common sense that came from the poor and oppressed and was their only way to speak out truths in protest...In spite to stop the messages of truth in war through music...it will always survive to carry its messages that remain and echo in the wells of silence...That again echo today...
