Id bet that your favorite music probably features more minimalism than you'd guess above poster. Hell even bands know for being absolute chaotic onslaughts like the mars volta being one of the more recent mainstreamish examples will show their best work in the fewest notes, deloused is a great example of how Omar took it down and included actual guitar hooks. Otherwise you end up with their later albums most of which I f with but I like jazz fusion most people don't, because the hooks become less and more sparse it loses alot of what made their debut lp so good. Also imo it's unfair to Cedric as a singer because he's the sole creator of the soul of the song, the hook that keeps you coming back. It doesn't matter if you know or don't for the example to work but if you do you can see how it really hinders the others when the person driving the act stops with *yawn minimalism*. We've never had hooks from that act since then cus without support the vox can't hold up the whole giant construct. Though he did better than I would've thought possible. On the off chance your a fan, don't say like the widow or vermicide or some shit. There releases it's not the same. They were made for the radio and tbh they still lack the minimalism necessary to make music worth returning too again and again, it's Cedric selling eskimos refrigerators imo. I mean it's a talent overload but we need more then solos and odd time sigs and frygian dominant. Tools best records are a great example a well made act and masterful minimalism, people who don't know better think odd time so it's complex. No it's sprawling minimalism in a progressive context and high praise to them is the fact that often while in odd time the layman cant tell the difference that's ideal usage. Though situational as some signature are never gonna go under the radar....Ahh why am I typing this you probably aren't a musician anyway.

This really conjures what it's like to play with other musicians. The dynamics are everything. All three players are capable of cutting loose (and all excellent vocalists) so it's nice to see the kind of restraint and discipline that one doesnt see in live performance but which is essential for recording. It's so beautiful. I like the version with vocals fine buy this version gives goosebumps.

This song has quite literally been lifeline for me some days. Over the last year I've been purging pretty much everything in life that just wasn't working anymore. It was needed but often has been painful and hard, and because I have an anxiety disorder there's been lots of fear and doubt, and trusting myself in situations is a struggle. But this song reminds me why I'm doing any of this. I tell myself that I'm different, so my life is going to be different. (And all of this will never be the same again) And there are days when I listen to it on repeat. If any of you ever wonder if the music you make makes a difference, it absolutely does! Music and art have the ability to heal and unite souls and it matters. Thank you. ❤️🔥

I think musical maturity its not shown by complex compositions. Actually I think its the other way around. Simplicity can shows us how the ride can be more pleasurable than the technique. And how difficult can it be to provide a simple and pleasurable ride, straight from the soul? Without planning, without thinking too much.. Just feeling the flow... I love to listen the lazy progression and to see the empathy between them, how they're wondering which way to go when one change some tiny and simple detail.. :) for me, this is whats beautiful in this jam session. :) Oh, Dave owned this one!
