I love Soundfall, it doesnt have the most depth but theres plenty of levels and sublevels, I do wish the other heroes were unlockable sooner but I really like the game. the SOUNDTRACK IS AMAZING THOUGH so diverse and with plenty of good music.

Rhythm games that allow using your own music is always a big plus in my book. I'll be checking this one out. Great review Will!

Let that be a lesson: don't let Discord take over the world Seriously, proprietary chat without end-to-end encryption is not a safe place for messaging people or keeping your private life private.

Nice review Will! Glad you liked it - it looks neat - especially the ability to use your own songs!

It's pretty good. The loot system is a little annoying, because if you are finishing maps perfectly you probably don't need powerful new gear. And if you are having trouble, you won't do any better by getting a single common axe core, especially because the axe is trash.
@chrisashflash2 жыл бұрын
exactly, Im level 15 and I'm playing on the hardest difficulty possible currently and still get crap loot not a single legendary yet. Most the good loot I've gotten comes from the shop

Cool with the implementation of adding your own playlists to the game. Maybe worth a look.

I'm so glad that Crypt of the Necrodancer and BPM have pioneered this genre that games like Soundfall are now building on.

@@yahoruz Nah, i'd say around 10-15 would be right, 5 feels like a disservice but idk im just hearing about this game now

So is this a rogue like/procedurally generated? Or is it a one type adventure/dungeon crawl?
@chrisashflash2 жыл бұрын
Dungeon crawlish
@FirebornCreation2 жыл бұрын
It's procedurally generated every time you start a new save data. The side paths have more variety to the levels than the main path which is supposed to encourage exploration, but may need reward tweaks to make it worthwhile as most people skip over it and just get to the end as quick as possible before the song loops.

I honestly hate this game. I am a huge fan of rhythm games and Cadence of Hyrule is one of if not my favorite games of all time, but this pissed me off so much. My issue is that it didnt feel like I was playing with the beat half the time. I am a musician and a dancer keeping in time is my jam and yet I could not play this game. Anytime I was doing excellent I was off the beat of the music. I tried calibration over and over again and yet nothing changed. Idk if it was the switch version or something but something was off. I would literally be tapping my foot to the beat of the music and doing my inputs to that and it was wrong. It even felt like the in game metronome got off sometimes it was wack.

So like, the customizable music is only for Steam users? Console players can't add in their own music, if that's even an option?

Should be an option via usb, guess they didn't want it.

For a game that depends entirely on your ability to follow the beat, this game has no concept of rhythm

How do you review soundfall without mentioning it's like crypt of the necro dancer/cadence of hyrule ?? Near as I can tell is that without pixel graphics and with loot? Have I missed something that makes this especially unique?
@galladeintheshade44222 жыл бұрын
It’s a looter shooter, and the gameplay is much different. Necrodancer’s movement and combat are rhythm based, while soundfall’s movement is not. Necrodancer is a roguelike, so you restart if you die, so there’s another difference
@rumotu2 жыл бұрын
Honestly thought I would enjoy the game as I like crypt of necrodancer and cadence of hyrule, but the game has some problems with input reading. And in those games I never had any problem to stay on beat. In soud fall tho there is something that is off. Tried to calibrate but still feels off. In the end after few world game felt too repetitive. Waste of time and money
