Such a sad and shocking day. R.I.P. to one of the best singers ever. I'll remember your haunting wails for the rest of my life. You will not be forgotten. Your music will continue to inspire and entertain forever. Say hello to heaven for me.

The sad truth is that Chris and those like him who possess high intelligence, sensitivity & creativity find that these traits cannot spare them from the anguish of raw and all-consuming emotional pain that they cannot 'think' their out of.... their genius deserts them in their hour of greatest need, and without adequate spiritual and emotional grounding they succumb to the sickness of temporary insanity and sadly choose a permanent 'solution' for a temporary problem. God bless you Chris.... I hope you are at peace my brother. You were one of a kind, and your legacy will live to serve and save others.

His wife said he took too many of a prescription drug that makes you have thoughts of suicide when over taken. They talked after the show and she said he was slurring his words (which is a result of taking too much of the drug) and she asked, he said he did take too many so she asked a friend to check in on him but it was too late. So sad.

I truly love Chris Cornell's music, ever since 1990 when at that time a dear friend turned me on to "Louder Than Love",I got to see Soundgarden twice in Sydney 1994. I truly feel so sad,and very confused presently, wish I could wake, and realize this awful, terrible news was only a bad dream, but it's the harsh reality- of this present life-I'm not helping it seems,so I'll stop there.

The Jesus pose wasn't prophetic. He's performing "In My Time of Dying (Led Zeppelin version). It's a gospel song. The song being last on the set list may have been part of a plan. We won't know if he planned it days ahead, hours ahead, or just seconds ahead. If it was a spur of the moment decision, that makes this really eerie. RIP CC, I'll miss your voice and those amazing eyes.

I think that usually angry and furious Shepherd is stunned by Chris' unusually reckless lung and vocal chords ripping wailing and is like "What's wrong with you? It's like you're singing the last time in your life".

She also shed more light on the events of Wednesday evening: When we spoke after the show, I noticed he was slurring his words; he was different. When he told me he may have taken an extra Ativan or two, I contacted security and asked that they check on him. What happened is inexplicable and I am hopeful that further medical reports will provide additional details. I know that he loved our children and he would not hurt them by intentionally taking his own life.
